I think this was just for the Eurovision show she was doing and in general, Conchita has been fairly settled in her boy drag look of late. Still looking much better than that dodgy transitional phase though.
 
God I’m not surprised it took you so long to work up the motivation to do this - they’re all pretty tough going, Hungary in particular.

No huge surprises the winners are all worthy additions to the semi-finals.
 
Nathan Trent is surely one of the most aggressively annoying people ever to grace the Eurovision stage. He's that guy in uni that you slowly start to phase out of the group until, one day, you all get a house together without inviting him.

Trackshittaz were a modern marvel. @Jacques it got my ten, I hope you can forgive me.

Loin d'ici is, by some distance, the best song Austria have ever sent. Rise Like a Phoenix was good and all, but it was Conchita what won it. He could have sent anything and got the same outcome.

Anyway, cheers @VoR, this was a lovely little surprise yesterday.
 
Rise Like a Phoenix is much more about the package than the actual song. I've never really been able to remember it. A classic Eurovision moment for sure but I wish the song was just a bit better.

The Makemakes song is really nice! A bit REAL MUSICy I suppose, but definitely deserved more than nil punkte.

Think something must be wrong with my speakers because that Nadine was a painful listen :zombie:

I changed my DOUZE for Poland from Cleo & Friends to PALI SIE last second (a month ago) :disco:

Not sure I had any strong feelings about any songs in this lineup; but can’t wait to move on to the next stage!

I don’t think that’s the case AT ALL...

Would it have won with somebody else singing it? No, I very much doubt it. But it wasn’t just a bearded lady vote - if she had sung another song less well then I can’t see her having won either.

She’s released a lot of material since and not a lot of it has that same sense of occasion and drama that Phoenix had.

So no of course it wasn’t a victory for “the song” alone and it was very much a moment made up of song, artist, performance and the time in which it took place. But couldn’t we say that about most Eurovision winners anyway?
 
I was planning on making an announcement later actually, although I was looking at Wednesday evening for the first Semi Final.

I'm hoping to do a livestream and I've figured out most of the logistics (hopefully) but I could really use a hand on some kind of announcement board for the semi final qualifiers.

Any graphic design queens fancy helping out? I will upstage @COB's dog & pony karaoke show if it's the last thing I do!
