MOOPYVISION 2020: Semi final 2​

20 songs dealt with, 21 left to go. Sadly it's universally agreed that semi 1 was the "good" semi, but we still need to choose 13 songs to qualify from this batch. Please PM me your votes for your top ten of the following songs by 1pm on Saturday 16 May. And all I can say is good luck everyone...

I've said it before, but what a fucking horrible year 2020 is. Two songs in that bunch I ever want to hear again, and I've had to give points to songs I actively dislike because I hate others even more.

I've come to the realisation that I'm actually not bothered at all that it was cancelled, not one song in the entire list genuinely deserves to win.

Yeah, by some cruel twist of fate the dud autoqualifiers were voting in this heat too.

I was doing a simulwatch of Semi 1 last night with my friend, and scoring too. I wasn’t sure if it was the alcohol me, but I thought it was a good year

The worst ones here are nothing like Arcade though. Yes. I like Looking Back. Things like Latvia, Moldova and Poland are the awful ones.

I maintain that 2020 has its share of gems and that you can only judge a year AFTER the live shows. Which we obviously won't get to do this year.

Having said THAT, this semi is truly DIABOLIC.

I will say that, having seen Cyprus and Latvia live, they were higher up my lists than they would have been otherwise. I still can't say I properly like them, though.

There just doesn't feel like there's anything with an emotional core or a killer hook at all, the whole year just feels clinical and cold.

There's a really good song in there actually. Until the chorus when it just bizarrely descends into what genuinely sounds to these ears like a parody of rap song on an American sitcom

I reckon the points at the lower end are going to be really close as people struggle to find a way to rank the songs and spray their points all over the place.

it wasn’t anti-Arcade (though it took me a long while for me to get into that)

But I mean it seems to have opened up the gates for any white guy who’s feeling some kind of way about something in a dreary downtempo style.

Most winners have an impact on the following year. Though I can’t think of a time when one of those echoes actually WON the next year

I'm not sure what you lot are hating on but i was pleasantly surprised by Semi 2 after seeing so much hate .. Depending if my favs from this round qualify, i think most of my final points will go to acts from this round

I did a live watch of the videos yesterday with my friend (totally at odds, we gave points to 16 out of 18 songs) and even my scores were totally surprising to me.

I’ll have to factor in the big 3 in the mix but that’s just checking if UK will make it for me
