I would shamelessly just buy a album of him doing Elvis standards at this point. At the songs would be good.

His finances interest me slightly, in his book he makes it seems like the late 90s court case drained him of all finances but he's then seamlessly spent years living in a Beverley Hills mansion and then a Rome five star hotel.
 
The late 90s were comparatively lean for him - his albums weren't selling, no-one would sign him and back catalogue sales were beginning to be harmed by the internet. But the truth is that no-one with a 50% share in The Smiths' catalogue is ever going to go bankrupt. "How Soon Is Now?" alone keeps him in potatoes and bad shirts.
 
Annoyingly the new single "Notre-Dame" is interesting sound wise, very synthy and different for him, but luckily the lyrics are the same old conspiracy nonsense SHITE!
 
A pub band playing New Order while Mozz repeats the same lines over and over again. There's about 20 words in the whole song and he STILL manages to support a conspiracy theory! Wanker!

Why does he keep touring? The economics of touring are bad and surely he must have enough money to keep himself fed with toast. Plus as someone who has seen him 3 times, he's quite a shit live act. He's the definition of a pub singer and his band more often than not sound like a pub cover band.

Madam released an album last week and somehow it totally passed me by :D not sure I can be bothered but there's a statement -
"I tearfully thank everyone who worked to make today possible. It has been a long and hard war, and we were constantly up against those who have tried so very hard to put me out of circulation … Alistair Norbury (BMG), David Joseph (ex-Universal), Jennifer Ivory (Parlophone) … none of whom are morally qualified to judge anyone else.
Furthermore, I do not want or need the corrosive deathbed approval of The Guardian - for whom unrelenting hatred is time proudly spent.
Today's victory is very important because although I am not number 1 or number 2, the singers who are both 1 and 2 were very graciously yanked up the ladder, whereas this Morrissey thing is now - as ever - too confusing for certain people to grapple with. It is confusing because it is the sound of real emotions, real songs, real people. :eyes: We haven't gone away. We are here to stay."

He's such a wanker! Imagine getting a #3 album and taking the moment to bitch about a man who is selling out 12 nights at Wembley Stadium and a woman who just won an armful of Brit Awards and has sold more album than Morrissey could dream of in the last 6 months. What an arrogant prick.
 
I've just realised - the people named at the beginning...rather than thank his current team, he's singled out people from his old labels who dropped him! What a cunt! Parlophone ditched him in 1994!!
 
I was right about him, Stefani and time will prove me correct on that stick woman who writes songs about baskets that people inexplicably lap up.

I genuinely don't think he was. At some stage or another he developed a corrosive bitterness and by the time he lost the court case to Mike Joyce, that had essentially became his whole personality. His words lost their humour, their nuance, their playfulness and their empathy. "Autobiography" sums him up perfectly - it starts wistful, delicate and emotive but then he signs a record deal and after that, it's just an endless stream of who ruined his career through such acts as releasing his records, producing his records, co-writing his records, directing his videos, y'know all the things your most extreme haters usually get involved with. He was a charmingly silly wanker and it was by no means determined that he would become such an insufferable, small-minded prick. It does make you wonder if he'd achieved the success he thought he deserved, would he have been better or worse?

There's always been racism around him, right back to the 80s. Who he is now, is a more bitter version, he was always a racist pig. I have always been aware of that and hated him as a result.

He’s such a hypocrite too, he complains constantly about not having television or radio support and bookings, if someone offered him a “ladder” he’d bite their hand off and scramble up it. He actually had many moments of being the “hot thing” and he’s managed to fuck it every time. I bet Harry Styles team don’t have to worry he’s going to cancel a Wembley stadium date the morning of because he has a headache.

I was definitely wrong to consider 1988's 'Bengali In Platforms' to be merely clumsy where, with more life experience than I had at 14/15 (inevitably), I can see that it attempts to conceal an obvious racism. But a lot of people move on and develop positively. He was in too much of a bubble for anyone to stop him sliding down that hole but he created that bubble for himself and on purpose so he can drop the victim act.
 
I think we'd all be VERY GRATEFUL for Morrissey taking a year off.

And if it means he'll stay off sick even longer, can someone please schedule a very noisy festival outside his home? With vuvuzelas?

Apparently it was Fallas, a traditional Valencian festival which is essentially a massive street party with firecrackers. So why he is blaming the hotel when he should be blaming whoever on his team booked a hotel in the centre of town, FUCK KNOWS!
 
This appears to be the only hotel on that particular plaza and it looks DELIGHTFUL! I want to go now (just perhaps not during 1-19 March)

That's what happens when you don't have a manager and your idiot nephew looks after things. The first two TripAdvisor posts said it was nice and quiet - should have read down a bit further, Moz.
 
There is always a little internal sigh, what's he done now, sadness about Morrissey these days. At least I didn't have to put up with his shit at Madstock 2 where they wisely had Aswad and Dawn Penn instead. And the imperial Ian Dury and the Blockheads (they did the first one two but I will always be very happy I got to see them and their brilliance).
