We've already had two from JessusPop quiz - we need stats on which artists have the most entries
And Jessus better have more than one
The lower tiers are littered with pop from all over the place.I wasn’t expecting Strawberry Switchblade to appear but it’s a great song.
Good shout. I wouldn't like it half as much without the ad libs.Xtina: best served via The Strokes bootleg, otherwise I only really like the groaning bits in its original form.
499 Anita Meyer Why Tell Me Why (1981)
A late disco track from Dutch singer Anita Meyer, later repurposed by the evil Carola as Säg mig var du står and covered by the also evil Zara Larsson.

490 Tears For Fears - Mad World (1981)
Current darlings of 80s nostalgia along with Fleetwood Mac, Tiffany and The Police. Another with a famous dreary cover (Christmas no.1 no less, and not a penny richer eh Gary Jules?). This chunk of 80s electronica is glorious. Check out the video for some of the shittest dancing of all time.
Short answer: no.I’m reading page 1 currently, and I have to ask, is there a Spotify playlist?

379 Sasha - Xpander (1999)
Fancy 10 minutes of some trance from the summer of 1999? Of course you do! Stick with it, the pay off is amazing. Best served at 2am.
375 iiO - Rapture (2001)
Vocalist Nadia Ali, is possibly the only artist of Pakistani heritage on the list, so good for her, and worth noting for future ASFMs.
Anyway this is trance meets disco, with a liberal dollop of vocoder mixed in. I was 21, had two jobs, fucked everyone I could, was partying every weekend and taking every recreational drug I possibly could. Good times!
447 Heller & Farley Project - Ultra Flava (1996)
The work of British producers, with a very American sounding house track. Lots of pleasing 90's dance music sound effects, synthesised whooshes and beeps. Allegedly the Ultra in Ultra Flava is a nod to Ultra Nate no less.
415 Mariah Carey - Fantasy (1995)
I was definitely losing interest in Mariah by Daydream, despite the era containing her best music. Just the right level of pop and RnB, to keep me sated. An absolute rush of euphoric of uplifting summer pop joy.
Deep Dish really were very busy and influential in the mid 90s. I am looking forward to a deep dive into some of their other projects in my 90s thread shortly.
well, maybe not new to you, but to me!499 Anita Meyer Why Tell Me Why (1981)
A late disco track from Dutch singer Anita Meyer, later repurposed by the evil Carola as Säg mig var du står and covered by the also evil Zara Larsson.

This is one of my all time favourites. I still love it now. The way it slows down in the middle. Waaaay better than the full vocal Morales versions to the point a clip of it made it on the album I believe. I mix this with Morales' own Philadelphia afterwards.
325 Lana Del Rey - Young and Beautiful (2013)
Even more Lana. This one absolutely gets me right in the emotions. Featuring in Great Gatsby, it came out around the time, me and Mr Ag got together. Sorry to be sacchrine, but I know we will love each other when we're no longer young and beautiful. Some may say that ship has already sailed. Either a luxurious celebration of forever love.
