Iguana
Like beautiful robots dancing alone
Lovely timbre!
There's a difference between putting out many variants and setting up a Patreon. What is "enough"?
Taylor Swift is a BILLIONAIRE and puts out millions of varieties of her albums because people will pay for them.
Can't Nat change a tenner a month for what's basically an old school fan club?
I don't think it's sad but I do wonder how many people will sign up if even I'm not tempted
She may be loaded , she may not be but it’s not sad to generate income. You don’t know what her royalty cuts were or how much was paid back for advances from the record company. She might have invested her money wisely or blew it on silly decisions. As a parent maybe she wants as much in the kitty for her kid in the future too as is possible. It’s a silly thing to criticise someone for. There's a difference between putting out many variants and setting up a Patreon.
It’s usually only struggling artists who charge their fans monthly for content they would otherwise get for free.
Bob Marley himself didn't try to be money-making when he was alive, but his descendants are quite the opposite, hence the last bit + extra merchandiseYeah I'm trying to think of a commercial artist who doesn't try to make an income but I'm struggling. Even the DEAD ONES rerelease old albums countless times!
)I imagine that she also makes good money from performing at private/corporate gigs which can easily pay 100k for a smaller artist with an iconic hit. I've read about Nat playing those before, and even one of those in a year gives you a decent "salary" and probably a much bigger income than any touring she'd do.You'd assume her % cut of the Torn royalties wouldn't be huge with it being a cover. Her streaming numbers for the rest of her catalogue aren't hugely impressive, so unless she saved very sensibly back in the day, she will be almost solely reliant on touring income. And even there, she's mostly doing one-off festivals or being a support act, so we won't be talking millions.
