NEW EMOJI FRIDAY

One of the tenants who lives in the flat over the office popped in today and asked whether I could drive a manual car. I said that I could then asked why. He asked me to go outside. There was a massive brand new Vauxhall half on our drive with the arse-end hanging out into the road. He said he'd been given it as a courtesy car from the garage and had drove it back OK, swung on the drive to reverse down the side of the building where he parks and discovered he didn't know how to put it in reverse - could I see whether I could do it and then show him how? I got in the driver seat and looked at the gearstick and there was no R on it, just 1-6 for the gears and also no button under the knob to lift it and go left into reverse like mine does. There wasn't even a handbrake, just a button with a red letter P on it. As we're sat there my boss came out because she thought somebody had crashed into our wall. Anyway I dipped the clutch and started the engine (he said it took him three attempts to start because he didn't know you had to do that - it's so children can't start the car), tried it the same way mine goes into reverse and it worked so then I had to do it three more times to show him how to do it by which time the other three office girls were all out watching us. Anyway I asked did he want me to reverse it in for him and he said he'd be OK so I jumped out and went back into the office. I'd just got inside when there was an almighty clang so I ran back out, he'd gone forward a bit and scraped the bumper on the wall, panicked, put it in reverse and backed it straight into the street sign. Doh.
