I had no idea her biopic had even been shelved. I also didn’t know (or didn’t remember / care) that she was directing. Sounds like it was for the best.

40 minutes in so far and he’s had a fascinating life. We are just up to the mid-70s right now but we did get an amazing Michael Jackson impersonation already.

Billy is actually doing a decent job of letting him talk unlike most of his interviews.
 
His early Michael Jackson discussion was pretty interesting. Still haven’t gotten much Madonna yet but what he has mentioned has all been good.
 
Some highlights :

He didn’t like “Everybody” and told her that
He told her to dump the backup dancers
He told her what to go for with the first record cove instead of the abstract painting Chris wanted
 
Cher looks more happy to pose that Madge! Although is Madonna still 'in character' - not quite as glam as Cher who went as herself and aged Madonna, but it was in the name of art.
 
In any case, I did like how their looks had almost inverted somewhat.

I also got fooled by an AI Mariah for a few seconds and thankfully didn't post it in some 3am excitement.
 
All I know is I want Cher’s MD when I need that face lift fantasy
 
It does have that Who's That Girl bounce, but I'd say it very much lands more in Like A Prayer territory (assuming the demo would be spruced up a bit).
 
I think it would have actually made a decent single choice instead of Oh Father (also assuming it was a bit spruced up in the Final Cut). The LAP album was a bit matured from this sound but I don’t think it would feel out of place given how varied the album already was.

EVERY song on Like a Prayer could have been a single, bar Act of Contrition and Love Song, so that doesn't hold much WEIGHT.
 
Though I love Til Death Do Us Part most, I still think "Spanish Eyes" is one of THE great lost Madonna singles. CAN YOU IMAGINE THE VIDEO?

As cute as it is, it would have sounded utterly ridiculous on Like A Prayer.
 
Well that's certainly in her new range. Like adding the Rain talking part to it.

Would love to hear the original demos or how they sounded before Madonna seemingly went on to dismantle them.
 
I hear a very lovely voice but I didn’t understand a word of what she was saying.
