In fairness it'd be hell being a teacher and have to keep an eye for any serious discomfort and make sure all children are ok when all of them are feeling discomfort.
I also remember from past experience that vulnerable groups (children and elders) are advised not to go out in the sun and the heat or to non-airconditioned places during excessive heatwaves.

There is a risk the heat might be dangerous, I wouldnt want the risk of 30 kids collapsing on me.

I thought there was only a legal limit for cold temperatures, not hot.

I guess classrooms are going to be very hot and kids will get agitated. But I think each parent should be given the option whether to send their kids or not, so ones that work don't have to miss out.
 
Its not like we havent been warned about these temperature rises for decades.

I think with careful precautions they would be ok. People happily travel to places with temps like these without a second thought. There should be an option to send in, even if just for 'key workers'

Come on :D There‘s a difference between sitting on a beach in 37 degrees and being sat in a stuffy classroom/office!
 
Stick an extra carton of Um Bongo in their packed lunch and let them get on with it.
 
I mean we can’t even get a second small fan for our desk and that’s in the NHS so I hardly doubt several underfunded schools are able to properly ventilate entire buildings :D
 
I'll certainly be changing all my consultations to telephone ones. It feels irresponsible to expect people to attend appointments unless absolutely necessary at that temperature.

Take him to work with you. I bet he’d love to spend a day removing people’s eyes.
 
It was 34°C today - I was in home office (no AC in my flat) yet it was oddly MANAGEABLE.

One more day tomorrow, then two weeks OFF.
