Good morning. Office suspiciously empty, clearly people are planning to get on it early this year.

Me? I'm just looking forward to a long weekend.

Got my family coming over in a couple of hours, to finish off the remains of our Xmas Food. About to put a ham in oven, and then we're pretty much back to regular meals.

Meeting up with friends this afternoon to do an ESCAPE ROOM. The sky keeps going from bright blue to ominous grey, so that will make the journey fun.

My parents are off out for dinner tonight and leaving me at home.

Hi Moopy.

I have 4 more hours of work and then 30 days off!

The shop and town are absolutely dead today. I'm very bored. We hardly have any fudge so i cant even package anything.

I might start a new book.

Waiting for an appointment, and if you have to have a TV playing in the waiting room why would you put it on ITV?!

In the hope that you can't take it any more and leave, thus reducing whatever waiting list is involved.

I’ve finally got some taste back, well, in my mouth anyway :D Not perfect but I could taste leftover bubble and squeak at lunch, so fingers crossed.

In other news, Mr Sheena’s grief/ depression appears to be getting worse and he is now saying he won’t be doing anything New Year’s Eve. Considering I was banking everything on that considering the shitty Christmas I’ve had and I won’t leave him alone, I’m trying desperately to reconcile this in my head but failing miserably.

I'm assuming Mr Sheena wouldn't appreciate you having friends round to yours on NYE?

Is he dealing with the grief and loss of his mum or is he sinking into a pit of depression and not really dealing with it?

My friends mum died a couple of months ago and he still barely mentions her. It's like she didn't exist. It's very strange how people deal with death

I'm going to The Edge tomorrow night in Southampton, a gay club, for a straight friends birthday. Part of me is excited, the other part is dreading staying up last midnight :(

My office is unsuspiciously empty.

I have just enjoyed a liquid lunch of 3.5 pints and i'm fucking off home at 3pm. I like owning my own department.

Nah, he wouldn’t have people round. He just wants to hole up.

Plus I’ve just found out in the last hour that OLD ELLEN has crashed her car, been put on anti depressants and has basically spent all Christmas crying and hasn’t felt she could tell me about it because of all that’s been going on.

I’m giving up on 2023 :D :(

Gawd, The Edge?! I haven’t been there in an AGE.

Oh that's so sad 😢 poor old Ellen. What a shit year you're having. Surely 2024 has to be better 😬

Feel free to join us :D

I'm going purely for the music. And a night in a hotel.

God no.

And who goes out for the music to a nightclub at our age? The music is all YOUNGSTERS’ STUFF.

We've been invited to friends for NYE who are both lovely, and have a beautiful home, but it's too far to walk and I'm not sure I can face cabs on NYE.

I told Mr L thinking he'd immediately say 'no', and alarmingly he's quite up for it.

My Christmas tree went down on boxing night and I’ve been working since the 27th. Some may say miserable, I say REALISTIC

Took ours down today and it’s the latest ever- it’s the best way. Up early, down early.

I’m enjoying my Christmas lights this year so they’re staying up until the 6th

The Christmas films and music can fuck off though. I cancelled them all at 10am Boxing Day

Films and music all die on Christmas Day for me. Well, films by Christmas Eve.

I was enjoying the lights too this year and would have kept them up a bit longer but Mr Sheena wanted rid and I guess he’s right- it does feel a lot cleaner and more manageable here now.

In other news, I received this today and I have no idea who from. I mean, it’s amazing, but…

I just googled him.

I think I'm going to be back at the hotel by midnight :bad:

In other news, I'm all packed for South Africa, I'm expecting to unpack and repack multiple times in the next week.
