I just can’t see who would vote for it or how it’s as modern as some commentators (invariably over 30) say it is.
 
Um now hang on a second. I still love Monument, but how could I have possibly known this would materialise and change everything



I’m not saying I would not put on Kenno’s oxygen masks, but I would put on my own first, then Raylee’s, then assess the situation, then theirs.

You should know by now that this is just my process. First I loon out, then I start rationalising and emotionally preparing for doom.

I do think it's quite a catchy ditty if you completely strip away the visual element though. And it has undeniably been a big domestic hit. The Samir & Victor comparison is obvious, but who's to say they wouldn't have done quite well at Eurovision too?

the origin of this suggested fickleness stems perhaps from when I first heard Dinah Nah’s “One More Night”’and I immediately had to lay down on a hard surface in order to gain some sort of composure. Thankfully, a floor was nearby. Eurovision Season is full of these occurrences as new songs begin to leak and fans are overwhelmed- personally it is only around July that I can begin to truly make any sense of what I think of the music.
 
I get where the Samir & Victor comparison is coming from for sure, but I also feel their appeal is much more obvious for an international viewer.

Tix just seems like a bit of an oddity that falls into the awkward “is he for real or is this a piss-take” zone for those who aren’t familiar.

The song isn’t even all that bad, it just sounds like something boybands have been doing since the late 90s. Or is that the POINT?

Well Hero is fucking fabulous. It has hints of sadness, which make it’s even better for me :shy:/:D I think I like it even more than monument.

Psycho I like enough but it’s not thrilling me exactly.

My Life is Ok was not as laughably bad as I was hoping. It is pretty bad though. I do appreciate that he called out his own bad lyrics in the song.

Nordlyset is pretty but also unremarkable.
 
Hero is really great! But autotuned to fuck! I will wait till Saturday till I let my hyperbole kick in and start declaring my #6 song OF. ALL. TIME.
 
It's definitely Psycho Vs Hero isn't it? I think it has to to Psycho out of those two. It's far more modern and the guy looks hot in a Fun for Eurovish way.
 
After a relisten I'm also thinking Beady Belle was ROBBED and hope she comes back in some sort of twist.

Psycho has grown on me (after 2 listens) and also sounds the most like an actual hit song in 2021, but I still think its my 4th favorite

1. Hero
2. Monument (Maybe switch the first 2)
3. Playing With Fire
4. Psycho
 
After a few days, I think I actually prefer Monument. But I still love them both (and Playing with Fire)

Nice, but not competition. It could come after TIX's song as they have a similar vibe and there's the Norwegian aspect. I do think it would benefit from being sung in English though [/massive xenophobe] [/brexit means brexit]

Just going back belatedly to the Monument performance, it felt very X Factor guest act than competitor.

It was all very competent and good, but not really what they SHOULD be doing - nobody wants KEiiNO trying to be cool!
KEiiNO doing 2001: A Space Odyssey is a CHOICE in terms of both the dark leather styling, and stage set up. It's way too dark for ONE THING, especially the first minute, and it doesn't exactly EXUDE the joy and positivity of the song either - it depresses it.

I'm baffled why they didn't go for CLEAR UNIVERSAL imagery (ie SNOWY MOUNTAIN SCENES) that would tally with the song much better - imagine THUNDER AND GLORYIIAAAAAA and ONE LAAAASST TIME with Alexandra's long hair stuck in a wind machine whilst they bathe in the white light of SNOWY MOUNTAIN TOP SCENES flooding the stage. It would be so much more impactful, and such an easy win for them.

Spirit In The Sky and Higher Ground showed that obvious Nordic imagery does really well with the televote, slick and cool like Benjamin Ingrosso DOES NOT. They really need to make more of the joiker too, I believe he really helped them win the votes with SITS - why does he not have any trace of his Sámi heritage on him?

I'd go back to the drawing board completely if they want to be competitive. Even BASIC STUFF like Alexandra's hair being in BRAIDS works against them.

There is an English version coming out the week of the final apparently. Not sure if that means they’ll be competing in English but I’d say that send a clear signal of their intentions should it go to Eurovision (it won’t).

Do you know if TIX plans on releasing an English version of his? The more I hear it the more I think it might be in with a chance.
 
Oh and just to add, towards the end of the Monument performance Alexandra is unable to stop herself singing along with all parts, having the TIME OF HER LIFE on stage. WHY have they tried to force a band that literally EXUDES JOY into such a dank and miserable set up? :D

This is the time for their One For Sorrow, not their DEEPER SHADE OF BLUE :D

Yes I think he's said it would be in English if he goes to Eurovision with it.

Oh so we are expecting a COMPLETELY revamped performance for the Norwegian Final..? Sounds like a LOT OF EXTRA EFFORT, but I'll take your word for it :eyes:

In unrelated news that's related to KEiiNO, I didn't realise Alexandra is TWENTY FOUR! :D The company she keeps :eyes: had me thinking she was MUCH OLDER! :D
