Norway 2021: TIX - Fallen Angel

https://eurovisionworld.com/odds/norway-mgp

There’s these odds here that I’ve been checking every now and then. Fifth is the highest I’ve seen her.

I think as things stand it’ll be Raylee, Rein, KEiiNO and TIX going through to the final four, with the latter two going to the final duel.

Hopefully KEiiNO and TIX end up in the same duel :)

If Raylee made the superfinal last year, I don't know why she's not gonna make it again with this amazing performance.

Anyway, I assume she's probably not winning, the real DRAMA this Saturday would be Charlotte not qualifing.

There’s only one duel (the final two)

YouTube:

Keiino: 721,000
TIX: 140,000
Raylee: 75,000

She's also 5th in the betting odds, behind Keiino, Tix, Rein and Imerika.

I'm not trying to be a party pooper, I just think Keiino is the one to pin our hopes on.

Remember Verona won its National Final from 2nd too.

I didn't think I could love Monument more, but watching Melfest last Saturday strangely made me put it back on heavy rotation (along with QUEEN TOT bien sûr). I think it's about to overtake Spirit In The Sky chez DC :disco:

Do we ever get rehearsal snippets? Or do we have to wait until the show to discover if KEiiNO have fixed things or shot themselves in the foot by keeping it dark?

I think there will probably be stills.

I agree that Raylee is likely to make the final (I don't know what VoR is on about with her stats, did he not see the FLOOD of bubbles in the corner of the screen during her performance :disco:) but last year the superfinalists ended up being decided by a back-up jury so it's not quite an apples to apples comparison

KEiiNO, TIX, Raylee and Imerika will probably be the top 4. I can't see Rein finishing that high (he didn't last year, bloody juries), isn't the overwhelming reaction that he's disappointing compared to One Last Time.

I know nothing about Rein beyond his song last year, is he big in Norway? I think the fandom only want to see him in Viking mode and so this Bond theme thing isn't what we ordered.

I'm leaning towards Raylee now. But I still have a lot of love for Keiino - I'm just not sure it's half as good as Spirit In The Sky but that's also an absurdly high bar.

Ulrikke will perform this at the final as an interval act.

WHY DIDN’T YOU ENTER IT YOU SILLY COW?!

What WAS the drama with Ulrikke? Seems BIZARRE she's recorded a song that sounds written for Eurovision, only to not even enter it :D
I doubt the one week at number 39 in the Norwegian charts that song will inevitably get will pay particularly well :D

Didn't she get a bit STROPPY about not returning or have I made that up?

Imagine she trolls them all with that (really good) song, by announcing she's representing another country with it

Also...can I assume that running order is to give KEiiNO maximum chance of winning?

Not that I don't think Raylee is amazing, but if she can't recreate the water thing, and with those relatively weak vocals, I'd much rather Monument at Eurovision. At least that serves a well executed money note.

Still concerned about Tix and if I had to be honest with myself, I feel it would perform better than either in Rotterdam. But I don't care, send the gay baiting stuff please!

I don't see it myself. Even in its English version, I can only imagine Europe looking at it wondering why that weird looking bloke is singing a comedy-enhanced boyband-reject from 1998.

It seems she didn't want to return and be given an automatic spot in the final saying it would be wrong, but then expressed disappointment they didn't internally select her?!

Seems a bit of a nonsense really and a wasted opportunity.

That said, listening to the song in full I doubt she would have won again with that..

I dunno if she'd have won this year with that. Probably not.

Maybe she's playing the long game. Get a bunch of sympathy for being 'screwed over' this year (whether that was really the case or not) and then come back in 2022 for the win.
