Congratulations on the good taste Nuyorcian Soul but The Orchestra just sounds so much sweeter and warmer.

Masters At Work have been so influential on dance music - this album and tracks like "To Be In Love" the cornerstones of so many house movements from Ibiza to Miami to New York.

The Nervous Track was the track that got me into all of this:



It was via this Oakenfold mix (which is crammed full of delicious house and not for the Big Brother synthy nonsense he became known for):



I'd never heard mixing before, so this entire CD blew my mind. This and the Tony Humphries one. No digital stuff going on here, this is decks and blends going on. Sounds so basic nowadays but sounded like magic to my ears back then.

What a tracklist though. Deep Inside on there, a really nice deep version of Who? Keeps Changing Your Mind, The Believers.

Not sure I'd drag it out today, I think the Tony Humphries one is more timeless, slightly more under the radar tracks (like the superb Underworld mix of Shakespears Sister)... MAW's and C&C Music Factory ones are the ones I'd be pulling out.

FWIW - I think the album that eventually came out was "good" but not great. It was a little... sterile. An example would be their version of I Am The Black Gold Of The Sun. 4hero came in with an all timer remix of it that not only stayed faithful to the original, but gear shifted into sublime D&B in the second half:
