Hello. Yesterday was getting mardy about inaction, today I am overwhelmed.

The duality of Ron.

On the plus side, I'm getting some major spring vibes from the air.

I just had a meeting with my accountant. Went something like this...

Yep yesterday and today has been nice weather wise. I think we've had a pretty mild winter this year. Not really any snow and it hasn't been THAT cold.

My local has had new landlords for the past six months or so and we love them dearly. What they haven’t worked out yet is that for as long as I’ve been drinking in there (30 years plus), I’ve always had some sort of comedy “scam” going on. One was turning all the posters and art upside down when no one was looking. (Which went on for years without anyone twigging it was me). Another was swapping the “gents, ladies” directional arrows next to the bar (which I did get found out about). ALL COMEDY FAVOURITES.

So since they’ve been involved, they have a new jukebox. Which you can control remotely. Except no one has worked this out and everyone keeps wondering why The Cheeky Girls keep getting so many plays when no one is owning up to it. I do it when we’re in the pub and when I’m sat in bed.

Only I’ve just discovered that Tuesday’s “free jukebox” day extends to the app as well. So all night, I’ve been playing absolute shite from my sofa which keeps gazumping the stuff it’s playing and now the pub WhatsApp group is absolutely alive with people furious about having to listen to Sabrina’s Boys for the 10th time this evening and wondering why. :D

The people who invented remote jukeboxes knew exactly what they were doing

Have you got a link?

For the app? It’s NSM Play. Loads of pubs are on it.

(Not for my actual local, though, I don’t want to bombard and ruin the place :D )

Well I'm really enjoying bombarding a local flat roof pub with a Rednex Megamix and The Muppets Bo Rop.

It costs a fair amount to do it normally, but I think most have free jukebox days.

I felt like I could splash out a fiver for sixteen songs to torture some right wing day drinkers.

Christmas songs seem to go down particularly badly! They’ve removed Have a Cheeky Christmas now it’s not the season, sadly.

Currently torturing an old people's social club in Ipswich with Cradle of Filth followed by Poing

I wanted to spam your local

Well, no, they’re lovely people and brilliant landlords after a succession of shit ones. I don’t actually want to drive their custom away or fuck them over by “spamming” them with shite :D

The horrid, right wing pubs, though, that’s a brilliant shout…
