Yes, I wrote about it in the 2026 film thread. It was FINE and I thought the use of darkness/light was really well done, but it was just another monkey's paw variation in the end. Don't know why people are losing their shit over it.
Great performance from the lead actress though.

I found it to be pretty upsetting (complimentary). Obviously not the most original story, but very well done and Inde Navarrette was so good and unsettling

I thought she was dreadful. But that could have been the direction. The direction and the fact that half the film was out of focus and so dark you couldn’t see anything made it unwatchable. Also, that wasn’t his wish! It just wasn’t even close to his wish in any way.

Was the image too dark at your screening? It is a dark film, but I thought it was fine. One of the cinemas here has very dark screens, you can tell the difference compared to the cinema I usually go to.

I think you're right, adjusted for inflation it must be Blair Witch. I think I misread the article, all other headlines say "one of the most profitable movies".
Having said that, it's not out in some of the bigger markets yet (Spain, Germany, Japan, China), it will easily make another $100 million worldwide.

I did like this though. Both leads were great. Some elements reminded me of Talk to Me.
