I have checked the entertainment schedule and tomorrow and Sunday are free for now, so if no one objects I am going to hijack them.

The DRAW for order of selection of countries will take place at 1800 BST TOMORROW.

I will then let everyone know their position in the running order via PM. If you are number 1 and know your country send me a PM with your country, and I can move on to number 2, and so on. If everyone could be online tomorrow evening then that would be appreciated, but do let me know if you can't, and send me a list of countries to choose from, and the top one available will be chosen for you. Once you have selected your country everyone will have seven days to select their entry.

The grand reveal of the countries taking part will take place on Sunday, along with the semi-finals split and the running order which will be drawn completely at random. You can then send in your songs from Sunday onwards.
 
Whoever is last on the random list will probably be able to waltz in and snatch Sweden, UK, USA or any other big nation from under our noses because everyone else will have assumed they have no chance.

God imagine a SEA of Bahrains, Eritreas and Yemens all with completely unlistenable entries that everyone including the sender hates :disco: I cannot wait for this shit!
 
Which rules did we end up having? I can’t bother to read all the previous posts.
 
So if you're second in the running draw but you can't be online tomorrow, you effectively lose your place right?

Could you not send everyone their number now, and we can reply with our country whenever we're online? You could then send confirmation to each of us as soon as you're sure nobody higher up the list wants that country.

Just thinking that might be easier for you as getting these flighty buggers together at one time is nearly impossible, as I learnt to my cost when I solved that murder at Tartley Manor and asked everyone to assemble in the drawing room.

Ok, I'll send everyone their number on Thursday at 6pm when the draw is made. We can take a few days to sort out the countries, and have it completed by Sunday evening when the running order will be made.

But isn't Kala telling everyone which countries are gone when you're going to choose yours? Good god, we have so many versions of the rules that I'm not sure how we're doing it.

But if someone who is high up in the draw can't be online, everyone below them can't then wait until that person comes on and picks surely? Even with Kala emailing our positions out, we still have to do it in order...no, hang on, that's why we pick 10 countries so maybe not...

Oh fuck it who knows or cares, enjoy the avant garde extravaganza, never mind making sense of it

I feel very lazy, the idea of spending time looking for a song I want to send, just to be told that I can't, doesn't make me want to do a search at all.

I saw Diddy mention a list, but I can't remember Kala issuing any directives from on high about it.

I have a thing at 8pm tomorrow so I'll send a list if my number's not come up by then.
 
Ok, so there have been a few ideas floating around, do forgive me because a lot of this is going with the flow. We will get there, I promise.

Here is where we currently stand:

1) Tomorrow, when the application process closes at 1700 BST, all those who have indicated YES will be put into a list.

2) This list will then be randomised, and the order the names appear will be the order each person selects their country.

3) Everyone will be sent a PM with their position. This will allow you to have an idea of whether your top choices are likely to be available, and when you will be required to be online to select your country.

4) Starting from the person in position 1, after 1800 BST tomorrow, they will be sent a PM to ask them to confirm their country. Once they have confirmed the choice, that country will be added to a list of taken countries. I will then send a PM to the person in position 2 with the list of taken countries (which at that point will have one country on the list) - they will select their country, and it will be added to the list of taken countries. I will then send a PM to the person in position 3 and so on... This might take a bit of time, but it should all be done by Sunday.

5) If you are unlikely to be online tomorrow evening, or anyone else for that matter, you can reply to the PM I send with your draw position with a list of 10 countries you are happy to choose. When it is your turn to select then the highest country still remaining is automatically selected for you, and you will be sent a PM with this country name. If all the countries on your list are all gone, and only then, a country will be randomly selected for you. If you're further down the list then perhaps a longer list may be better if you do not want this. Random selections will be ensured to not be very obscure countries.

6) Eventually we will get through all them, if everyone ensures they can be online tomorrow at some point. We have a few days to complete this, and it might take a bit of work from my end. Once everyone has selected a country, the participation list of countries will be published.

7) On Sunday evening at 2000 BST, a live draw will be carried out for both the semi final allocation and the performance order within each semi final.

8) Everyone then has seven days from Sunday to submit your entry. So in effect this gives everyone up to 10 days to find a song.

I will confirm the dates and times of the start of each semi final nearer the time, and how voting etc will work but it's likely to be during what would have been Eurovision week.
 
I have one song I really want to enter but I can't find the radio edit ANYWHERE online, only the 6 minute version and I know you lot throw a hissy fit at anything being over 3:30
