I honestly sympathise a bit with Kala here. I get that this process has been complicated from the jump by his own hand, but it can def be hard to be decisive and balance your own priorities against those of BAYING MOB :D

I have been part of a WhatsApp group organising Eurovision specials and watchalongs and honestly trying to do this stuff can be a fucking nightmare when you’re trying to organise around work and there are lots of restless eurogays pitching in ideas.

I think the main lessons i’ve learned is that you need make things really simple out of the gate, strike the right balance of being decisive and taking on feedback, and seriously BE HONEST if you don’t have the capacity, are getting stressed and need to change the originally planned schedule.

Lord, if we can handle half a dozen Eurovision rewatches a week, we can handle two song contests at the same time. They were always supposed to be distinct anyway

To be fair, that was already happening when he volunteered to do this. With personal stuff and Eurovision week coming up it wasn't the best moment for Kala to do this; and we probably pushed him to do it sooner that he was intended to do it, but when he started to talk about recap videos and live shows, I saw this coming. Make it simple or it won't happen.
 
We didn’t push him. There were talks of possibly doing another ASFM before Kalavision but then he just launched it.
 
I think Kala knows me well enough to know most of my PARODY was in good humour. I understand he has a lot of shit going on in “real life” and wish him all the love in the World. I am happy to wait until he is ready.
 
I'm a tad confused about a week gap between song submissions ending and any songs being revealed, even moreso by why the semi-finals aren't going to be run concurrently, but if that is what Kala has decided on, so be it. I'm certainly not going to pull out now I have a banger of an entry and miss my chance to win!
 
So we've lost 90s dance, generic house and a satanic-themed German entry. I think the contest can cope. I haven't thought short and soft over my indulgent entry for nothing!

Dates should have been confirmed at the start and if this was not the right time to go ahead with this as he had a shortage of time then he should have held off a few weeks before launching. That does not mean that I am unsympathetic with what is going on outside Moopy.
 
From what I heard, only songs from outer galaxies will be allowed in the final.
 
I'm closing this thread for the moment. I think some of the comments made in here are beneath us.

This will be reopened when Kala requests it (in fact, he should be able to do so himself)
 
A very small amount of Eurovision aside he's been quiet on FB. But I don't really have a measure of how much he uses FB.
 
Maybe it would be better if it was put to bed? He has a lot going on in his personal life, and I really don’t think running this is a very good idea for him right now. Obviously that is HIS decision to make, but it is all very hard going.
 
I didn't know the thread was open again. I just hope Kala is ok and logs in soon, with or without kalavision.
 
I absolutely adore the delirious, highly strung OLD HAG. I thought I had his number, but I don’t.:(

Yeah I hope he’s ok .. It was the other thread that was (still is) locked.

Anyhow, if it is cancelled just like Rotterdam 2020, are we all laying down some hot vox for a Moopy “Love Shine A Light” and then revealing our abandoned entries!

Maybe we can even do a Sveriges 12:a
