Oh, it’s a Monday

That said, it is fucking glorious out. Might spend an hour basking in the sun today.

So, the basement flat in our building caught fire during the night, after the resident fell asleep with the oven on 🤦🏻‍♀️

3 weeks ago our building fire alarms were tested. But whoever tested them silenced them.

So when the flat caught fire, the flat smoke alarm apparently isn't working, none of the alarms sounded in the building. Resident in flat remained asleep unaware.

Fortunately the alarm did trigger a call out to the fire brigade who turned up, saw it was a particular flat number on fire, but there's no map of the building available so they had to search for the entrance.

First we knew of it was when the neighbour woke us.

Apparently the fire brigade are putting in a huge complaint and investigation.

And my only concern is "what if the whole building caught fire and I didn't have time to save heathcliff".

Now I want to move to house.

Day 2 of the thrilling Moderna booster after-party. I feel like gravity is about 20% stronger and I don’t know what to do. Called in sick for tomorrow at least.

I finished the increasingly irritating WWII documentary series though. The ending was predictable though

This is the time to go to the gym, the stronger gravity will make larger gains just like in Dragonball Z

If I hadn't finished work an hour early I'd have missed the fun of watching alcoholic, horrible neighbour being taken out of his flat, thrown in the back of a paddy wagon and carted off to the copshop. I had an inkling we'd probably be seeing rozzers at some point today when he came back from the shop with a carrier bag full of beer at 7.45 this morning. The shop opens at 7.30.

It's the smallest things that bring the greatest joy.

So I have a dilemma (feat. Kelly Roland). I was supposed to go to a wedding on my birthday, but the bride texted me last night that the wedding has been called off. I obviously feel for her and will talk to her about it (only if she wants to of course). However, I now want to have my birthday party on that day, since its my birthday and a Saturday. I want to invite her, but is it weird to invite her to a party on what was supposed to be her wedding day? It would be weird not to invite her... Or should I just have it another day to avoid the whole situation. I'm leaning towards that

Depending on the situation she might appreciate an excuse to have a night out on the night that "should have been" that's about something else all together.

Would it be awkward if you went out one of the following days so that she can talk about it if she wants to and also invite her at the party?

How long away is this? If it's in a fortnight it might be a bit soon, but if it's, like, May I think if you speak to her closer to the time she'll be fine with it.

Of course if I fly to London and crash @Kate’s party and call it my party that solves the problem of whether to invite my friend
