So, the basement flat in our building caught fire during the night, after the resident fell asleep with the oven on

3 weeks ago our building fire alarms were tested. But whoever tested them silenced them.

So when the flat caught fire, the flat smoke alarm apparently isn't working, none of the alarms sounded in the building. Resident in flat remained asleep unaware.

Fortunately the alarm did trigger a call out to the fire brigade who turned up, saw it was a particular flat number on fire, but there's no map of the building available so they had to search for the entrance.

First we knew of it was when the neighbour woke us.

Apparently the fire brigade are putting in a huge complaint and investigation.

And my only concern is "what if the whole building caught fire and I didn't have time to save heathcliff".

Now I want to move to house.

I want to invite her, but is it weird to invite her to a party on what was supposed to be her wedding day? It would be weird not to invite her... Or should I just have it another day to avoid the whole situation. I'm leaning towards that

How long away is this? If it's in a fortnight it might be a bit soon, but if it's, like, May I think if you speak to her closer to the time she'll be fine with it.
