It's actually OK, if a little 80's in the production.

The main thing I remember about this song is ubernonce Rolf Harris getting weepy over it on breakfast telly.

That and my shock at discovering that BA Robertson wrote the lyrics.
 
They're getting brutal on videos in '89 - a verse a chorus and off - clearly saying you can either turn up or fuck off.
 
I think "Love Train" sounds pretty decent now - the lyrics are a bit clunky and such an out-and-out love song now seems very out of character given how FGTH wrote. It doesn't even seem to be an extended innuendo. But it kinda goes off.

I like this a lot more now than I did at the time - I considered it a poor person's "Alphabet Street" but that's really just the drum sound. Generally, the best thing about Fine Young Cannibals was the jelly-boned dancing by the other two.
 
Ugh, Then Jericho - half my school was absolutely FOAMING over Mark Shaw. I mean, OK, he's tall but he needs a haircut and has borrowed his dad's overcoat to go on Top of the Frigging Pops. Pish.

I recall it being suggested repeatedly in my school that Holly Johnson's "Love Train" was a knob metaphor but it absolutely isn't. It's actually quite a lame wee love song. I'll always have time for him because of Frankie but he retired comfortably and got into paining IIRC.
