Now records didn't usually FALL after a TOTP performance but I see the FIZZ managed it. Can't think why

My memory had Depeche in the studio...maybe that came later as the song climbed?
 
Slightly OT but the Depeche Mode at the BBC programme had some decent TOTP footage from the era where they carted half a scrapyard from gig to gig.

If you watch next Thursday you'll see the studio performance... in fact the edition is the only TOTP from August 1983 that the BBC will show as the other 3 from the month feature either DLT or Mike Smith.
 
I have about a dozen of these backed up and working my way through, as such I've developed a mild obsession with Ooh To Be Ah by Kajagoogoo. I've always hated Too Shy so it's a nice surprise.

I also had no idea any other male vocals contributed to Human League until the Fascination video.
 
Such a shame so many aren't being shown.

I've developed a weird crush on Nick Heyward now, and one half of Freeez.
 
Nick Heyward had a face that always demanded a kicking, I felt.

He has aged pretty well, though.
 
I was too busy desperately trying to fancy Cheryl Baker and waiting for puberty to properly kick in to be sexually attracted to anyone at the time. Watching it now I've no idea who I would have got the horn for at the time.

What with all the gender bending and men in make up it was no wonder I was a bit confused (never mind La Crudge's enticing beauty). And at least half the Belle Stars were more masculine than a lot of the male pop stars.
 
Only because a-ha haven't hit yet. And in retrospect Roger Taylor of Duran Duran and Billy MacKenzie of The Associates were both worth a squirt.

If he kept his mouth shut Curt Smith circa 1983 (even with skanky rat tail, in fact the hippy fucker in me would have embraced it) would have got it (only in some pictures according to Google images). Although he developed a shocking case of gay face.
 
Steve Norman of Spandau Ballet was fit as well. Although the hair and styling hid it most of the time.
 
Sorry, why aren't they broadcasting Mike Smith episodes? He wasn't a NONCE, was he?

There's been endless discussion of this. Apparently he caused a stink about it when he was alive and the BBC lost interest in fighting it and then after he died Sarah Greene for no obvious reason has maintained the ban.
