I remember buying either The Slightest Touch or Find The Time on red cassette single. And borrowing their cassettes from the library, but I think that was the sum total of my Five Star love.
 
The only song worse that "The Lady In Red" is Eric Clapton's "Wonderful Tonight" - every misogynists tune. It basically means "yes, I'm a total cunt but you actually look quite hot tonight and if I wang on about it, it excuses all my shagging about, laziness, abuse and tedious self-absorption".
 
It Bites. Basically Virgin Records asking "can we sell Prog Rock to a-ha's audience?". Answer - no.
 
Actually, whisper it but this hasn't aged so badly, the odd DX7 sounds aside.

I had a school chum who adored them. when I suggested they were Marillion for Spandau Ballet fans he took quite the huff.
 
Weren't they from EGREMONT? I can kind of forgive them a bit having lived up there on the Cumbrian coast as a nipper. BLEAK doesn't BEGIN to describe it

I happened across 'Something Outta Nothing' by Leticia Dean and Paul Medford on the radiogram the other week. Hopefully the joy of that is yet to come on TOTP. Now that one is shocking.
 
I'm not saying Phil Oakey is wearing too much make-up in this Human League video but he does look rather "pre-transition".

'In The Army Now' was written by Dutch producers Bolland and Bolland who had originally released their own version of it back in 1981. The duo have already been featured on TOTP 1986 - as co-writers (along with Falco) of 'Rock Me Amadeus'. I'd like to have seen Quo have a go at covering that one...

Quite a few unfortunately. Only 3 more in 1986 after the one I just posted. But in 1987 there's loads - 16 episodes in total. Poor M/A/R/R/S won't be able to 'Pump Up The Volume' as he presents all 4 editions in which the record is featured. Then in 1988 he finally does leave but not before he presented another 4 editions...

Just catching up on last week's episode. The Social Club's line about people saying that Michael is gay because he dances that way, with accompanying limp wrist motion has not aged well.
 
The Theme Tune from Howards Way did not need a vocal.

Neither did Eastenders, but that was amazing.
