Fun to hear Jancie spoiling the charts there... "oh no, it's not a new number one, it's Nick Berry"

What IS a Catherine Stock?

I have no memory of this at all...seemed to be rocking a Bowie c.72 hairdo, brave in 1986. Was this from a TV show or something?

Oh God, Catherine Stock just standing there looking awkward during the guitar solo :D . All the stage presence of a CUPBOARD.

She's DEAD love

Also

TO HAVE AND TO HOLD

Tough times are ahead for one family when the liberated Viv agrees to bear a surrogate baby for her childless sister Ann, and promptly falls in love with her brother-in-law Ken after they secretly make love instead of conceiving by artificial insemination.

She's DEAD love

The song was written by "Les Vandyke", a not-exactly subtle alias for her husband John Worsley. He also wrote for Marty Wilde. and his missus was on the same programme as Kim Wilde.

SPOOKY

Never realised how close Status Quo got to being #1 with "In The Army Now". Just as well, it was utter shit.

Oh fuck off Bon Jovi - the start of decades of fucking torture. One of the worst records in the history of everything ever.

I'm ashamed to admit I really liked this Red Box tune at the time. And I understand why, I'm just glad I've changed a lot since then.

John Peel's utter disdain for them was hilarious.

With that and Janice's increasing penchant for a stinging dig, it just makes it more of a shame that there can't be many episodes with them both left.

I would actually have killed for Corinne Drewery's hair. Still would, really.

Even NILE RODGERS can't save NOTORIOUS

'Skin Trade' was the only DURAN single that I ever though was any use AT ALL but I'm ready to be DISABUSED OF THAT NOTION

I like Duran Duran, but I fucking LOVE the "Notorious" album itself. It's BRILLIANT!

And "Skin Trade" is the highlight, true...

Did we know Catherine Stock is the sister of "Who's Leaving Who" hitmaker Mike Stock, by the way?

We're HEADING FOR VENUS
And still we STAND TALL
Cause maybe they've SEEN US
And WELCOME US ALL
:disco:

"Simple Minds with the most exciting video I've seen since...ooh...teatime. Mind you I had a late tea".

God bless you John Peel.

FGTH were phoning it in by 1986 weren't they?

Des O Connor is one thing, but what is this WHISTLING SHIT?

I had totally forgotten Alcazar sampled GENESIS!

Oh, they all hated each other...they took 18 months to make a really mediocre record and it sold poorly, thus finishing them.

I have a wee softspot for "Watching The Wildlife" tho'

Nick Kamen is a TALENT VOID!

Is he reading the lyrics?

His dancing style was certainly very crotch leading.

Still, he did later manage to come up with the evergreen I Promised Myself, so good on him for that.

I am so done with 1986. What a load of shit.

Janice and Steve Wright can't stand each other.

Christ the Theme Tune from Brush Strokes, kinda says all you need to know about 1986.
