Old TOTP (BBC4)

Eddy Grant - my parents had a Grant GH tape on when I was a kid, so I'm super familiar with all this singles.
Debbie Gibson - don't remember it from the time, but I obviously know Shake Your Love.
The Mission - Nonsense, but I did like that the lead guy was basically super real about the whole thing on the 1998 show.

To It To My Heart is obviously an absolute BANGER.

Hoping one day Kelly and Taylor could overcome artistic different to perform it together.

What was the short lived ITV chart show that was on around at this time?

I always wanted to go to an American Shopping Mall when I was a YOUNG UN.

They always looked so exciting. Then we got Lakeside and it wasn't that exciting*

* It totally was.

There was some HOO-HAH with RICK wasn't there where the awards show overran or something and he was CUT OFF

Nicky Campbell is painfully SMUG. He does have a nice straight back though.

Still the presenters are getting less GROSS. I mean it wasn't SO LONG AGO we were putting up with Tommy Vance.

Now I can't DISLIKE Billy because of his LOVELY LIME GREEN FLARED DISCO HITS but I do find his 80s output a bit TEDIOUS

I can't believe I'd ever agree to dance to this never mind SNOG A GIRL as well

I must have been VAIR VAIR DRUNK

VANESSA PARADIS and her PERKY NIPS :disco:

If I ever hear that Pete Waterman meeting Kylie anecdote again, I'm going to KILL KYLIE.

Why are just about all the JAM AND LEWIS records quite good APART from the ones with JANFT on?

But honestly I Should Be So Lucky was the first pop song I ever TRULY LOVED. I recorded it on VHS and I watched it on repeat. It literally introduced me to POP MUSIC. Her album was the first I ever owned. From this point on being banned from watching TOTP was an actual effective punishment to prevent bad behaviour.

Catching up on Thursday. Gary Davies in a completely ridiculous hat, but on the other hand there's VERY TALENTED LADY Joyce at the piano and the return of Dollar.

Until the other week I also had no awareness of this pointless cover by The Stranglers, surely a rather unlikely top ten single.
