So bizarre that poodle rockers like Whitesnake were still around. They feel a decade out of time.

LOVE Midnight At The Oasis, but I recently watched Waiting For Guffman for the first time and I fear it’s ruined it forever.

The song was 7 years old and had been reissued to tie in with a Hits compilation. The band had split 3 years earlier (although they later reformed,)

Aye, Cope upped his game clobber-wise for a few years around this time. He's made some really classic enduring albums although he became too prolific for his own good once he became fully independent.
 
I tend to forget that Rozalla song but it is great, and her dancer was certainly very into it. When an act only has one dancer it sometimes feels oddly intimate.
 
That poor girl they picked out in the audience singing Love Is All Around with more enthusiasm than Marti Pellow.

I take that back, he just unleashed the comedy long note.

The dancer was Jake Canuso of Benidorm fame, wasn't it? I can't find absolute confirmation, but his wiki informs me he seems to have been quite a few videos of the era.

And I've had a not entirely unpleasant few minutes reminding myself of when he was in Splash!
 
I really am UTTERLY SICK of Marti Pellow's mmmmming, oooooohing, OH!ing, YEAH!ing, hairtossing, and general all round smarminess.

I feel as traumatised now as I did then. If I have to live this part of 1994 again, please can I also have the good bits? 🍆 🍒 🍑

So far it has mainly been I Swear for weeks on end which I find insufferable. I'll happily take smug ol Marti over that, though I'll feel less charitable when it is getting in the way of Confide In Me.

I believe it was also Confide In Me, Crazy For You, Baby I Love Your Way and Compliments On Your Kiss.

Cyndi really put in the promo work for Hey Now and 12 Deadly Cyns.

Not Gary Barlow looking like he's been forced to dance at gunpoint again.
 
Kate Bush looking utterly stunning on what I believe was her last ever in-studio TOTP appearance.
 
I've found 1994 eminently skippable - a lot of forgotten follow-ups, tat I'd cheerfully forgotten and a few gems. It's interesting to watch the actual chart rundowns and seeing things like Radiohead having a #24 one week wonder and considering how few people would have even considered the notion that they were on the cusp of becoming one of the most successful and most important bands of their generation.

It was fun to see Jarvis Cocker's first presenting gig again. Again, Pulp were a moderately successful indie band here and he was a left-field choice. 18 months later, he was one of the famous men in the UK.
 
Honestly darlings I don't think I can relive 1995. The number of BOYS I had on the go simultaneously at the beginning of that year! Such a SHAMELESS HUSSY
