Olivia's new material is all very lovely and she seems to be suddenly quite big. Nice to Each Other has been hanging round for a while, as has the Fender duet. Her newest track entered the top ten last week and is three in the midweeks (with the other two in the top ten):

Nice to Each Other is comfortably the better track I think:

She's doing two nights at the O2 next year too. I'm a bit surprised she is doing quite so well, good for her though.

Huge Spotify debut with Man I Need this week too

Anyone liking this? I love Man I Need, which is now #2 in the UK and top 5 on US Spotify

Loving all the tracks so far. She's properly blown up with this album, seemingly out of nowhere! (To this middle aged man anyway 😂)

Surely Man I Need will sneak a week at number 1 with the album out this week, before the Tay Tay takeover? I think Golden goes onto ACR this week too which should ensure it.

I was definitely aware of her from 2023 onwards from Dive, but this is definitely next level cross over

Golden increased sales and has thus avoided ACR for at least 3 weeks

I was aware of (and liked) her too, just didn't think the general public were. Didn't see her blowing up so big on streaming as I expected her sound to appeal to a slightly older audience who tend not to stream as much. Pleasantly surprised with her success.

She's such a fun performer. I need to go back to the album, on my one listen I lost interest a little bit by the end. She definitely comes across a bit livelier in these performances than you might think from the recordings.

Man I Need dethroned Taylor on US Spotify today. I would wager it can top the Hot 100 post-Xmas as long as its streams don’t plummet. Airplay should peak around then.

Jazz pop winning on Spotify in 2025 just proves that you can’t ever predict what kids will choose to listen to.

And you can never count out a really good British soul singer!

The song on this album for me is “Baby Steps”. It’s one of my favourite songs of the year.

Wow amazing. Glad she got there this week as I imagine that Texas song will climb next week and might stay there a while

I believe it’s a pretty slim margin for the top 4 but the initial threat (Harry) is now gone.

And Noah Kahan will get it the week after so she’s fucked isn’t she?

It’s too early to tell but yeah between him and Ella Langley, it will be an uphill battle for Olivia next week. She could remain competitive though with the Grammy coverage (she is nominated for Best New Artist and featured in a live performance). But so is Bruno so he could come back to the fold too.

Man I Need feels like one of those songs that's likely to stick around the top 5 for an age, so I could see it getting a random week at #1 at some stage.

How did he go from #7 midweek to #1 with a song that was predicted to have almighty second day and third day drops? It doesn't make any sense.

It rebounded a bit on streaming so maybe the #7 projection was assuming it would continue to plummet. Its airplay points continued to soar through the week too. The Hot 100 midweek projections aren’t like the UK midweeks where it’s based on raw data/sales to that point but essentially just a guess based on early performance, and can fluctuate especially with points this low.

I really like man I need but the album I'm not too keen on but I've only listened to it twice without giving it full attention. It might be a grower.

I haven't heard a song from this album I like as much as The Hardest Part, but Let Alone the One You Love is pretty good! I like HER too (Olivia Dean, not the singer HER). she seems like a laugh. and on that basis let's make her prime minister.
