the other singles released from the album so far are also pretty FABULOUS




apparently they're from Manchester? they sound so American. quite intrigued for this record!

Change is the one my Spotify keeps churning out and I really love it. Was going to save it for a future ASFM entry but decided against it. Haven't heard the new one yet but will investigate. Do we know when the album's out?

Really like them, their 2018 album was great too and this one sounds like it could be better. Assumed they were American too! Have seen some dismiss them as faux-gothic but does it really matter if the songs are good?

She’s My Religion is my favourite out of the new bunch.

They haven’t topped Noises or NYE for me yet though.

Has anyone seen them live?

I had not heard anything from the debut. bopping to Noises now - what a chorus, what a synthline some of their melodic and vocal stylings, especially the more spoken-word bits, are extremely reminiscent of The 1975. which is no bad thing obv.

Matt Healy had some involvement with their early stuff I think. She does sound very like him sometimes, though the new material is more American EMO sounding I agree.

Liking the two tracks so far. They're very much part of the new new wave scene for me, straight out of the 80s American post punk sound. I get the EMO influence but I can ignore that as it's not my thing. And yes they are very The 1975.

Speaking of, I listened to the beabadoobee album last night, which has similar female early 2000s alternative vibes, but maybe a little more rocky. @Tisch @Jark have y'all heard her yet?

I have! She came up on my recommended one time. I found her a bit more "just noise" but maybe I just wasn't in the right mood at that time. She was also nominated for a Brit a couple of years back.

There is a "just noise" aspect to her, but I think there are also some really good strong melodies/songs on there, if you ever have the time to listen (and I know you do, its a lockdown). Especially Worth It and Dye It Red
