Pauline Quirke diagnosed with dementia

I am assuming that would be the reason she pulled out of the last Birds of a Feather and the others had to deny that there was a fallout.
 
Also if the diagnosis was 2021 it must be pretty advanced now. :(

The one she didn't take part in was 2020, wasn't it? I guess it's quite likely she was affected by it then if it was diagnosed the year after. Looking at her Wikipedia, she hadn't acted in anything since 2017. Very sad, particularly at her age.

OMG yes it was. I didn’t think it was that long ago. I loved her as Sharon in Birds of a Feather but she was a fantastic character actress across the board. Much better than Linda Robson who I don’t think acts at all and just plays herself in anything I have watched her in.

And I think Jennifer Saunders is better at Linda Robson than Linda Robson.
 
This is horrible

For the most part she's always flown under the radar, but she's definitely the best of the Birds... actresses. It wasn't her most acclaimed role, but I remember thinking she was legitimately fab in her brief Emmerdale stint.

I didn’t realise her real name is Pauline Perpetua Sheen. :disco: Sounds a bit better than QUIRKE.
 
For some of the newer members let’s just say if we were still in 2006 Pauline Quirke would be PRIDE OF PLACE on the Moopy banner. She was A MOOPY NATIONAL TREASURE.
 
Oh, I keep forgetting that she had a small role in The Elephant Man. Every time I see it and she pops up, I’m always surprised.

I don't remember watching that since the early 80s. It must have been one of the first films we ever rented on video. Don't remember her in it. I do remember her in Shine On Harvey Moon though. That was one of my dad's favourite TV shows.
 
I was just listening to a podcast on the signs of dementia on the way home today. They said 1 in 3 will develop some form of it which surprised me.
 
Linda Robson may not be able to act, but lest we forget she is also One Of The Nicest Women You Can Know

Obviously Birds... was mostly about the real MVPs Dame Lesley Joseph and Lady Pauline Quirke insulting each other
 
I always thought the friendship that all the birds had off screen was lovely. Especially Pauline and Linda.
