Phillip Schofield's Career DEAD? 🤷‍♀️ The Castaway Years (1 Viewer)

Well I think we’ve all learnt a lot from this amazing AND VERY SHOCKING interview on GB NEWS :disco:

Is that IT now, or are they going to make another night of it?

There are surely more sordid PS revelations to come, no? Nobody of that persuasion just has the one dip and leaves it at that. It’s like Oinks. WHO STOPS AT ONE BAG?

And by revelations I mean ACTUAL revelations, not bitter and painfully thin Eamonn whinnying on about more inconsequential rot

DRUNK ON CAMERA!
SAYS SHE’S DYSLEXIC!
MRS MITTENS THE GROCER’S KITTEN SO SHOCKED WHEN I TOLD HER!

It already doesn't feel like it's about that anymore (I'm also not convinced he'd have posted a retort to the 'toxicity' claims and risk wading into spats if there was even the remotest chance someone could expose the relationship starting when the other guy was underage).

The working environment at This Morning sounds toxic. And it's evident that a culture of nepotism exists, which Phillip Schofield appears with little doubt to have taken advantage of, and ITV appear to have dismissed when concerns were raised.

But this now feels like it's verging on a lot of people having an axe to grind with him (quite possibly with good reason) and piling in on the 'scandal' of the inappropriate workplace relationship angle. So, he's not a nice person to work with and has abused the systems at ITV for his own personal benefit...these are issues relevant to his future employability and seems like the actual story.

He had an affair with a young man who didn’t seem to be underage although was about 40 years younger than him. Nothing illegal happened, and it is no different to many famous men who have had relations with young girls who aren’t far over the legal threshold. It is not something that sits well with me as I always tend to think of my children and how I would feel if they took up with someone so much older than them but it isn’t illegal, and if they are 18 or over they are old enough to make their own decisions in the eyes of the law. As @Slave said if anything further was to come out then he wouldn’t have made that further comment. He is clearly not everyone’s cup of tea, and is possibly hard to work with but he has also had others speak out to say he was good to work with and others haven’t said anything at all.

In regards to Holly I think they have made a decision between them to keep her out of this to save her career and Phil won’t say anything else regarding her. Of course she knew, but she isn’t getting thrown under the bus…yet.

I agree.

if what we know so far is the story and there aren't more damaging revelations to come about illegal behaviour, I feel the swift and immediate cancellation of Phil Schofield is harsher treatment than a straight man in the same position would have received. probably a short leave of absence or a sheepish on-air apology would be deemed sufficient if this had been, say, Dermot and not a gay man. it feels like ghoulish people with jealousy issues are coming out to try and take him down now without any actual career-ending material to share.

Yes, I heard you first time. Thanks.

Then perhaps not use a question mark as if you're questioning my response. I won't apologise for misunderstanding BAD GRAMMAR. :)

I’m personally going to reserve judgement on this BOMBSHELL feud until we hear from the Moopy SUPERSTAR PANEL

Oh DEARHEART, if you think this is a FEUD, you should have seen me and OUR REET go at it in LES OLDE DAYS.

Thankfully, this is just what you kids call BANTER, I believe.

:D At it HAMMER AND TONGS. I would like to think we are much more elegant in our increasing years.

I'm getting Stavros from Easyjet posing with a valued customer after delivering him travel vouchers to apologise for a wheelchair not being provided to get him off a flight. All is resolved now, its great PR and a pose is needed for the daily Mirror.

I'm also getting the time Biden and Gaga teamed up for a sexual assault

I look forward to the ITV drama series about this in about a years time :disco:
