I say this as a bonafide woofter, but I would absolutely rather be married to Jane McDonald than Philip Schofield. I bet I'd have a LOVELY time.
 
He comes across well tbh. It feels like this interview will help his case a lot. And probably the BBC interview too, because when you're in a room with Amol Rajan you're unlikely to come across like the bigger cunt
 
SPEAKING OF CUNTS my favourite thing about The Sun interview is the complete lack of mention of Eamonn or Dan Wootton. They'll be FUMING :D

I don't think he comes across well enough to salvage his career tbh.
 
He comes across better than he did before this interview, which is probs the best he could hope for at this stage.

Career-wise, it feels unlikely but I'd not rule out some sort of comeback if he really wants it. I could see him doing I'm A Celeb in a year or so and that rehabilitating him enough for some Countdown dictionary corner appearances or a Classic FM gig at the very least.
 
Does he really need a career revival? He must be worth a few quid, and unless any lawsuits are incoming then he can have a pretty amazing life out of the spotlight now.
 
I do think there is probably not a lot more to this story (he'd hardly be giving these interviews if there were other skeletons in the closet on the brink of being revealed) so hopefully the media will drop it now because it's boring.

They won't, of course.

He'll probably make up with Holly in a few months anyway (he confirms that they are no longer speaking - she's just narked that her career has been put at risk). Yet we are bound to have months of this ongoing shit.

To be honest, having seen my share of "disgraced dirty old man" mugshots in the papers it looks tweaked to give exactly that vibe, even if it's just for clicks.
 
I feel sorry for him - he had a relationship he was unwise to have and then lied when asked about it by his employer - it's poor judgement on his part but I expect he panicked and then continued to panic. He does not deserve the hoisting the moralising right-wing media have brought for him. As for those exploiting this because they have their own axe to grind (whether it be lost job opportunities, curtailed ITV careers or simply because you're a nasty person with a bad heart like Dan Wooton) that says more about their embitteredness than this shattered person.
 
Having read the BBC article summarising the interview, presuming heā€™s telling the truth (and after all of this, surely he must be), it must be the end of the matter and, yes, he hasnā€™t really done anything wrong.

And yet itā€™s done no good. A quick glance at Twitter is still full of equating him to Prince Andrew and Savile and the suchlike.
 
Well QUITE. It was an inappropriate affair given the working dynamics (and fair enough there is employment outcomes, which would happen in this case in most situations), and morally problematic due to his marriage. But that aside, assuming all is factually as it has been stated, there isnā€™t really a problem legally nor in any other way other than peoples opinions on inter-generational relationships and gay men in general.

But of course those in certain quarters need to thrive off this ā€˜downfallā€™ and drum it up to be way out of proportion.
