I'm not a huge fan of lasagne for some reason, as much as I love all the constituent parts. I haven't made one or bought a ready made one for years, and doubt I'd ever choose it eating out.
I do love a bolognese, although I've never made it often enough to have a signature version of it. I've loved the results from throwing a few anchovies or a good sprinkling of nutritional yeast in though, to ramp up the umami.
Again it's a dish I'm not at all too inclined to eat out though, because it's so easy to make at home, and even if mine isn't the best, I don't think any I've ever had is THAT much better to make it worth the cost. When I eat out, I usually want to eat something that I either don't know how to make, or is too much effort to make at home. See also a carbonara.
