oh OK close the thread we have a winner. I actually don't think there has been a better TV moment in history. Me and my sis discuss this at length quite often. There isn't a writer on the planet that could have come up with this scenario and made it any better. Price. Less.

Aretha definitely had TERRIBLE insecurities which is ridiculous given her career, talent and status. Imagine not being happy that you're the Queen of Soul

My fave Aretha moment remains the shade Beyonce gave her calling Tina Turner the queen in a tribute with Aretha sat in the front row That really was bad shade though as Aretha was mentioned IN PASSING in the intro. (personally I do think Tina is better than Aretha by a whisker but that's just me)

Maybe the joke didn't LAND like she thought, but her arms up in the air and mouthing directly to camera "WHAT?!" seems like a dead give away. She isn't a very good actress! Not sure if there are receipts of her acknowledging it though.
