Post a Horrible Cover Version

@Ellie I don't hate it :D but yes, utterly pointless. It also sounds unfinished, like he was having a little jam in the kitchen and liked it so decided to just throw it onto the album as is.

I didn’t know this was a cover :o

Big hit in the UK in 1997

Actually the history of it is a bit more complicated. It was written for Monica, and Clive Davis ringfenced it for her, but sessions for her second album took a long time and in the meantime Eternal got hold of the demo and asked to record it.

In the end, when Monica’s version finally came out two years later it was huge in the US but flopped in the UK because this version was still fresh in people’s memories.

The Eternal version is far superior to me too, its odd how they didn’t have more of a go at the US market for the 2nd album, it was kind of tailor made for it.

I hate admitting that I also prefer the Eternal version to Monica's (silkier harmonies vs oversung warbling) because obviously now EVIL

If I'm honest, I can't decide if I love it or hate it.

TOTP re-runs reminding me how vile this is even by Ronan’s braying standards.

JUSTICE4GERI!

She would have got the #1 if she'd have released 2 CD singals! I think!

Rhett Larence produced lots of the later songs for Eternal including I Wanna Be The Only One. Surprised at them not wanting Monica to release it internationally but I suppose this was pre The Boy Is Mine fame.
