Post a song that REALLY should have been a single

I always preferred Sunlight and Goodbye as options, but I suspect she would have been doomed regardless. 2001 was such a shift from 97/98, it really felt like a classic case of TOO LATE, LOVE :(
'That Day' as first single really didn't help though. Should've gone with 'Beauty on the Fire' or even 'Wrong Impression'.

YES!

one of my fave of all time.

The thing about this is, Sophie was still capable of hits. Catch You went top 10. That makes the loss of this one so tragic

We can talk about our Rachels and Hollys but they were fucked anyway. If You Go feels like grabbing gold and then realizing you dropped the baton 50 metres back :(

agreed 100%

I always thought Wrong Impression (which did go top 10) should’ve been the lead as it was familiar enough sounding to the previous album to lure fans of her earlier stuff in and open them up to the other stuff that was on the 2nd album.

Love Never Loved Me - Geru Halwell

The best thing she's ever done. Should have been the first single instead of 'Ride it' let alone 'Desire'

Richard X is a hate crime for what he did to Geru. As in she was already like that anyway, but still. Lady Geraldine will never reach these heights.

I mean, her solo career was NEVER GONNA HAPPEN in the grand scheme of things, but this could/should have done something.

It captures her perfectly and is a more sympathetic endorsement of her plight. Her best solo song in my opinion.

This Sugababes song is easily in their top 5 for me. The way it build and builds with that double chorus thing going on. I mean they didn't NEED it at all, but it would have been nice

Stunning and wasn't it planned as one? I know there's a shortened version out there somewhere.

Even though I love impersonating the heave of a vocal she gives, it's EXQUISITE. And the disco freefall is some kind of Tina Cousins fantasia lunacy I could never find words for. Reminds me of a frankly terrifying drive down to the Dead Sea.

Seriously a Something New-On The Metro-Every Now and Then triple whammy would’ve been :disco:

But instead...
