A series of points about this iconic Enya track:


Boadicea, a track of Enya humming and playing synth chords, was recorded 40 years ago, has been sampled in over 70 different tracks according to WhoSampled, latest examples being from last year.


The earliest sample was not the Fugees (though Enya apparently gets all royalties from Ready Or Not) but Scarface, and the producer was an 18 year old guy known as N.O. Joe in 1993:


Boadicea wasn't released as a single by Enya, but was in the 1992 film Sleepwalkers months before Enya's album re-release as The Celts.

And a Brahms movement (probably subconsciously) inspired Enya ♡
