WHY when I click on ANY link on the BBC does it have the SAME FUCKING ARTICLE at the top, even though I've SPECIFICALLY chosen to click on Sport for example to read about TENNIS and it FORCES me to read the SAME FUCKING ARTICLE at the top again.

(RIP. I am actually a bit sad about it but what is there to read? She's dead. If she'd been murdered I'd understand there is some news to report. What can we possibly need to read about it?)
You have to remember that she was a really world class rugby league player in her youth.

Although, yeah, the exact same thing irritated me a little.

Will the funeral be next Sunday? Or the Monday?

I'm assuming everything will close for the day, even the stock exchange.

Things won’t be shut!

The football is still going on at Old Trafford FFS- why would it be DISRESPECTFUL to pop to Sainsbury’s?

I doubt they'd had a funeral on a Sunday. Maybe it will be on Saturday. Gutted.

Yeah surely everywhere will still be open tomorrow? The funeral I'm expecting everywhere non essential to close.

Including fudge shops.

I said this to Mandy, surely it won't be on a Sunday. I'm thinking the Monday?

Will shops, schools, banks and post offices be shut?

While the funeral will take place on a designated day of national mourning, a nationwide bank holiday will not be granted. It is at the discretion of individual institutions and businesses to decide whether to close. Banks, post offices and supermarkets will likely stay open unless the employers decide to give employees the day off to observe the day of mourning.

For nationwide closures to happen, like on a regular bank holiday, the government must request that businesses give employees the day off work. This isn’t likely to happen, and it’s expected that most businesses will stay open as usual.

It was a Saturday

I remember as I was working in the Co-Op and had to go open up post funeral about 2pm.

I went out the night before and got bladdered, knowing I wasn’t getting up in the morning :disco:

Mandy and I said before we even opened our shop that we would close the day of the funeral no matter what. I would feel weird working it.

Wasn’t that on a Sunday too? But in 1997 lots of stuff wasn’t open then anyway.
It was a Saturday. I remember it well, I woke up hungover at my mates place. We all watched the funeral with massive teen bravado. But then the Mummy card came out and it broke us.

I was looking forward to seeing MENLY C at Radio 2 Live in Leeds next Sunday. They better not fucking cancel - I paid for a buffet breakfast at the hotel on the Monday.

The BBC coverage is so smooth. They've been practicing for YEARS.

Ragin’ that I didn’t get a single day off work during covid and now looks likely won’t get one for this either ffs.

I wonder what Netflix will do. The next series of The Crown was due in November.
