Only QUEENS of a certain type will know that "singular brilliance".
 
Makes you wonder what her fave Kylie was. Of course everyone knows The Queen and The Queen Mother were huge Neighbours fans and would have the BBC send them advance tapes.

Well there we are

I was on a date in a pub in Richmond and suddenly everyone was on their phones saying “she’s gone!” and then straight back to normal

Just finished getting my hole and catching up with the news now :whistle:
 
So what happens next then? I haven't read the London Bridge plans in a while.
 
This is the thing. For 95% of the population it’s going to be “Oh, that’s sad - wonder if we get a day off?” and then that’ll be it. But because of the other 5% we’re going to have to endure weeks of blanket coverage.
 
I do find this all tremendously exciting. I woke up about two hours early, just buzzing. It's like we're redoing the Jubilee, but better :disco:

I imagine there will be a significant amount of public interest in this. Certainly in the key ceremonial parts. I don't think the coverage will be quite as grating as Philip's. He was quite a dull man of little consequence when you break it down. QEII is far more embedded in our lives.

That being said I absolutely expect it to become boring very quickly. Hopefully there'll be enough pomp and ceremony to maintain some interest. The funeral should be a ride.

Bigger context wise, it's a major historical event. The Kings and Queens ruler will need to be updated for starters.

The BBC News site has this embarrassing piece about how "this is the moment history stops", and it's like REALLY THOUGH??? I'd say the history books have famously been QUITE BIG on reporting the death of monarchs and ascension of the new one.
