Queen Elizabeth II DEAD

I must pop over to CLUBLAND TV to see if they are playing the knackers off of CANDLELIGHT MIXES.
 
This is going to be our biggest posting week since Eurovision though I would have thought.
 
I have to say I was expecting a few Vera Lynns and Royal Symphony Orchestra plays the Pipes to hit the charts this week

Maybe if she’d shown the slightest bit of interest during her jubilee concerts….
 
So, I'm at the shop today and we have the radio on, we've switched between a few, Heart, Isle of Wight. It's all power ballads and slow songs which I like anyway.

But, they're all also playing loads of Westlife. Which obviously I love, but now it's made me sad that stations only think Westlife are suitable to play when the nation is in mourning :(

I thought my class of 7 year olds might be upset so I decided to address it with a history lesson, where they had to create a timeline of the major events of her life. First two questions after we looked at her biography were: “why did she take over all of those countries?” and “where did she get all those jewels from?”, followed up by one boy shouting out “prince philip was racist”
 
Just popped to the CO-OP to do some (respectful) shopping and almost burst into tears at this touching tribute as I went to pay.

I was nearly in tears by the time I reached work yesterday, the songs were just so depressing, Coldplay really is music to slit your wrists to. I didn't realise until after I'd set off, I went through all the stations the car had and they were all playing the same type of banal dross, my phone was inside my handbag so I couldn't even put my own music on. In the vain hope that my phone would be secretly listening I spent half a mile of the dual-carriageway shouting "Siri! Play music!", "Siri! Play Apple Music!" to no avail.

With all the talk about the negative connotations of the Empire and with that professor in the States recently making those (frankly insensitive) comments about the Queen, it would be interesting to hear from anyone on moopy who was directly or indirectly affected by the actions of the British in their colonisation of other parts of the world and whether this has any influence on their opinion on the Royal Family.

My grandparents on my Mum's side were British subjects of Indian origin, displaced from their homeland to help work setting up the railways in east Africa. Yet my Mum doesn't have particularly strong anti-monarchy sentiments. Their family had the luxury of being granted British passports in reparation for their services I suppose but a number of atrocities were notoriously committed in India to certainly justify any resentment.
 
I've been thoroughly enjoying the whole shebang. Absolute sucker for the dramatics and propaganda.

Megan/ Harry and Catherine/ William currently doing a walkabout but with a very clear distance between them and the odd forced bit of chat. Still frosty then.
