Quite warm Wednesday

Morning. I'm spending my morning washing and drying cat litter :)

You recycle cat litter?
Not usually! But this stuff I'm having to use to test his urine is little tiny plastic beads that don't absorb it so I can test it.

Not only is it crazy expensive but also dreadful for the environment. So the vets told me I can wash, dry and re use it.

It's not easy.

I sometimes get pangs of guilt over our cat litter use and the environment.

Then I console myself by thinking its hurting the environment far less than if I had children, so fuck it.

Haha very true! I don't usually think about my cat litter usage as it's just gravel. But I know this stuff is bad.

Much cooler here but no-one has told our office who have the air-con blasting. Something they failed to do on Monday when it was proper boiling.

I mean, REALLY.

Can someone help me? Was SOMEONE on moopy talking about adjusting curtains with iron-on heat tape yesterday? Because I read someone wanted advice but in my morning-addled brain I replied at length about it in a PM to @Queen of the Bay who had no idea what I was talking about :D
Well this is awkward...

Also not knowing how to iron that glue type of tape to make them shorter.

22°, light rain, gentle breeze.

My perfect summer

How is everyone in Europe, land of fire, today?

I spent the day up here, swimming and drinking beer.

Feeling a bit flat tonight so I’ll go to bed - that’s what a Skype with my parents will do, plus Japan getting an all-time covid peak from steady recovery within the space of about 2 weeks.

Wanted to finally plan something to look forward to but now scared to fly

Just do it, the stats are in your favour, even if you get covid you should recover well.

It just felt to me like living in a film set the entire time I was there. I've never felt I knew a place I've never been to before like it. And I could have lived off cheese pretzels from the guy on the corner the entire time we were there.

We went in early 2003 when a lot of the tourist things were still closed down, and Ground Zero was still largely undeveloped, so it would be interesting to go again this many years on. I think it's unlikely we will though as it's not near the top of our list, such as that's been for a few years anyway.

Im desperate to visit Austria. I'm going to hire a bike and sing songs from the Sound of Music.

Nothing can quite prepare you for the non stop car horn honking though.

Seriously 24/7
Oh I'm looking forward to it! I want the full Home Alone 2 sensory experience; I won't rest until I've been accosted by a deformed taxi driver and watched Brenda Fricker command a flock of pigeons as they peck out Joe Pesci's eyes.
