Ooh I like that

Still waiting for the promised disco record though :D

This is a LOT like a Moloko record so far...

I don't know much Moloko outside of their big singles, so not really getting that vibe from these. However, I love all the pre-released tracks so far and excited for the album. Roisin Machine was great, so another album in that vein or more disco would be welcome next. She did release a couple of albums in quick succession in the mid 2010s if memory serves me correctly, so perhaps she will surprise us with a quick follow up!

isn't this the quick follow up? :D

I don't know... I don't get what this album is supposed to be. it's called Hit Parade and she said it was American friendly and destined to blow people's minds but... the singles are just warm soul/pop songs. all very nice but nothing particularly exciting or wow.

Moloko were a trip-hop/downtempo band - the singles were either remixes or big pop numbers designed to be singles probably through pressure from the label. Not to say the singles aren’t all fabulous, but they’re not representative of the band.

I've been having a little Róisín morning today, and honestly what an ARTIST and ICON she is.

Moodymann remix (!) of What Not to Do out now (the original isn't out yet). this is delicious though. very mid 90s. @funky and @FetchFugly will live!

it's giving Robyn's Beach 2k20

Do we know where this is in the chart update?

I was surprised to see she’s never had a Top 10 album before

Collectable like body parts.

Anyway, I was all set to dive back in to the RoMu catalogue having basically dodged everything since Movie Star par some Come to Mama thing that was good. I'd be curious to listen to this if nothing else just to be incredulous at how LGBTQ pandering it seems like is her bread and butter. If I do enjoy it, I'll have to put a disclaimer on it or even as a SPOILER (sort of what she is) after the disclaimer.

I still play 'Movie Star' Roisin, don't worry babs.
