Oh I MUCH prefer messaging on Teams to emails. I always send documents through our Teams channels too.

Thanks GREGGS, but whilst I'm sure Children in Need is worthwhile, I don't need a big CORPRATE telling the common people to donate even if you're hiding behind the facade of sweet old friendly Dorothy on the till.

Now you've forced me into a position of either accepting you passing social responsibility onto me (and no doubt claiming the credit), or leaving feeling like a CNUT.

I can't trust nor be bothered to find out if they're using the donations to reduce their tax burden, so I'll assume they are and therefore it falls under THE EVILS OF CAPITALISM

Sadly I was UNPREPARED for today's ambush, and in my panic I caved to the wicked Dorothy. But it was a reminder that Greggs are evil. I'd allowed myself to forget in a post-LadBaby world.

Evil, and I also refuse to believe the staff even keep those card tips themselves. We are likely just funding the Greene King annual executive away weekend.
 
On the subject of bars and pubs tipping, I get that it’s become a grey area and god knows I also don’t want to be lining the pockets of those gangster breweries any more, but the country really does need to find a way to reintroduce tipping culture in the digital age. Bar staff must be struggling compared to what they used to earn when everyone used cash. I don’t think it’s fair.
 
I’m seeing more card machines with add 5%/10%/20% buttons. I’ll usually pop 10% on a drink if there’s an option (20% if they’re fit)
 
I'll only tip in a bar/pub if I've ordered a cocktail and feel guilty about making them spend five minutes preparing something complicated.

I hate places with the 10%/15%/20% option presented before you've even received the service. I was at Glasgow Airport the other morning attempting to have breakfast and I'm bloody glad I didn't add on a tip when placing the order because after over half hour, my fry up still hadn't arrived and I went back up to get a refund.
 
I’ve needed a sizeable dose of caffeine this week and despite not normally being much of a coffee drinker, I’ve had a few. I’ve also long resented the fact that queues in Greggs are constantly held up by slow people getting coffee there when there’s a perfectly good Pret in sight where they do specialise in hot drinks. This is usually on a Sunday when I have to work in the office sometimes and Greggs is the only suitable place open to grab a quick breakfast roll in the area before midday.

I’ve been told the coffee in Greggs is actually rather nice and good value. IS IT BOLLOCKS? It was foul. And ironically I got a lovely filter coffee in Pret today for 99p.
 
@Ellie Here is your very own FRUGAL NANCE tip. Use a reusable cup in Pret and you can get a filter coffee for 49p! I refuse to pay £4 for a coffee when I can get it at this price!

I would argue this also applies to their savoury food. They've somehow obtained national treasure status with the British public, but I think mostly because we are too scared of being too Hyacinth Bucket by admitting we prefer Gails or Paul. Everytime I've had a memory lapse and ordered, I've been rewarded with COLD CHEWY GRISTLE.

I only venture nowadays as it's the only place in walking distance of the office that sell emergency Red Bulls.

I’d also add charities set up at supermarket entrances/exits trying to HOUND you on the way out.

Do you like iced coffee? I love it. Do one 59p in Home Bargains, 250ML.
 
I have OAT MILK ONLY now. Which is fortunate because most places actually do stock it. Don't bother in small independent cafes though - because they don't get much trade, the one carton of oat milk sits opened in the fridge for WEEKS and nobody checks because you can't always tell it's off by the smell. You can fucking taste it though. As I discovered LAST WEEK.
 
In the indies here, I'd be far more wary of dairy being fresh than the oat milk.
