Darren Hayes was an inspiration and a rolemodel even for 17-year-old me. I loved their sound, the first album was amazing but by the second one I had already moved on.

Savage Garden are one of those funny acts who, if you posted about liking them on Moopy back in 04 you'd get ripped to shreds, but now everyone's like "Oh I quite liked them really".

I have a lot of time for Darren Hayes. Though sadly not enough for that half-baked double album about time travel.

I never actively listen to anything by them (apart from Insatiable by Darren), but when I do the first album still sounds as good as it was back then (nowadays maybe mostly for nostalgic reasons).

A surprise highlight of a pub quiz I ran this week was playing a clip of I Want You during a music round, only for some gobby drunk to inexplicably yell out “DARREN HAYES! FUCKIN’ LEGEND! LOVE SAVAGE GARDEN!”
