Red Bull Bus Breakfast Monday

To be honest, I distrust any 'limited' item that isn't numbered.

I'm guessing some of them weren't limited at all. I saw multiple boxes of Bowie picture discs.

Isn't there a lot of other releases just released on that day just to take advantage of increased footfall?

And people who believe things are limited when they aren't, or have run numbers so high effectively they aren't, anyway.
Oh yes, many of them aren't that limited but as far as I know Body Talk was never released on vinyl and it just looked so lovely.

My most prized acquisition of the day was Mansun's 12" "Legacy" EP - that one is truly limited.

I also got Lou Reed's Ecstasy album, which apparently was never released outside of Germany on vinyl before.

(Yes I spent over £150 :shy: ).

Ker-ching. Madonna is another one who does it. Well, Warner...

I believe that coloured “You Can Dance” we ended up with multiple copies of between us last year was “limited” to 20,000 copies worldwide.

There’s always loads of Bowie. They are not actually that limited- stupid people grab them thinking they’ll be the most collectible. I saw at least 10 in the shops today.

Bowie's "people" have taken to putting out the shite they know they'll struggle to shift otherwise on RSD. There are two box sets of 7" singles with unreleased demos from 1969. 5 years ago, they'd have been RSD but now they know they don't need that hook to sell the decent, unheard stuff. I mean, really, a picture disc of "Pin-Ups"? What's next year, a laserdisc of "Never Let Me Down"?

This is generally my thing. I wanted “Body Talk” on vinyl full stop, not cause it was limited.

I’ve spent way more and will be more once I source the Nana/SS stuff

The albums? Or the 12”- which was a lot more popular. I’d have been amazed if there were a few just in one shop, from what I’d heard.
The albums. Don't think I saw the 12" but I wasn't specifically looking ..

Are you still in Southampton? I’d be HALF TEMPTED to pop back and check when I’m home on Thursday if so...
No! I went to 100 Records in Romsey. Great little store if you've never been. Mark (the guy who runs the store) also organises a music pub quiz at the local pub on Thursday evenings..

I read on Steve Hoffman that a US RSD release, supposedly in a numbered edition of 1200 is showing up with numbers over 2300...

Oh I might pop up there. I need to return something (let’s just call it an “item”) to Ikea this week- it’s worth a bash.

This kind of shit is what annoys me about RSD. That and the “licence to print money” it’s become. £35 for an album is not acceptable, people!

I wanted so much this year, though :(

RIP and all that but Bowie was the ULTIMATE king of fleecing the faithful... the number of reissues.. ugh.

The only thing I wanted was the new pressing of "Imperial Wax Solvent" by The Fall and I didn't NEED that so I didn't bother. Other than that, there were a few things that looked vaguely interesting or were nice items but nothing necessary. And certainly not worth the prices being asked. Those Propaganda and Art Of Noise 12" boxsets being a case in point - £45-£50 a go so completely overpriced and you just knew they'd go fast and straight onto eBay. Which they did. So why bother?

The pricing seems rather random doesn't it? Is it supposed to be in concordance with how "limited" something is and/or whether it's the first time it's been released on vinyl or picture disc etc. etc. ?

I wanted Suede's 20th anniversary reissue of Head Music for example. So it's largely considered to be one of their worst albums and they have only just recently reissued their entire back catalogue on vinyl. And here it was with a disc of B-sides for £36! I mean fucking hell.

On the other hand my friend wanted me to get her Noel Gallagher's Flying Birds thing which was on coloured vinyl for £11 - nice one.

Apropos of NOTHING I just want to mention that THE LOVE UNLIMITED ORCHESTRA boxset is ALL KINDS OF FABULOUS

Although whoever put MY MUSICAL BOUQUET in the CD database as MY MUSICAL BANQUET needs to KNOW THEMSELVES. I mean I know Barry was a BIG MAN but REALLY

The Propaganda boxset I saw today for £40. I didn’t even glance at it. Maybe I should have...

There were copies on eBay for over £120 on Saturday and that's with bids rather than inflated Buy It Now prices.

Maybe it's levelled out...I shall check.

Yeah, there's ones at 85 and 90 that have a bid, one at 64 with several...and a few sellers who spotted the early prices and went with it.

Nah, I shall leave them to be grabbed by other cunts...

Nooo that must have been you!

I'm pretty sure that I was shitposting away about the Peel box and posted that at one point, while I was listening, I found myself looking at it and smiling. But I didn't come up with "gazes lovingly". Maybe it was @Ag...
