If Restore run the right, local, candidate, they could do very well. It shouldn’t be hard to paint Farage as an out of touch multi-millionaire who does very little for Clacton itself. Voters get to keep the same right wing policies, but ditch the man who clearly hates Clacton itself.

The thing is, between now and the by-election - nobody is going to stop asking these questions - so he could very well end up in a bigger mess before he gets there - the idea this is a slam dunk for him is I think based on pessimism - there is every reason to believe he will utterly bollock this up.
