RPDR CAN S01E08: Welcome to the Family

I’ve seen a bit of speculation online that BOBO might win, following Rita’s flop this week.

I think it will be Priyanka, as she makes sense as the one to be wheeled out in future/by far the most social media-friendly queen but IMAGINE!

DISCLAIMER: I actually really like BoBo, she may even be my fave queen this season, but her winning would be LUDICROUS :D
 
I fully support and expect a Rita Baga victory. The perfect representative as the inaugural Queen of Canada and just what we need to create a wonderful trifecta of 2020 Drag Race Champions alongside Jaida and Shea. :disco:

I love Priyanka but think I love her more as a talking head and television persona than as a queen. Jimbo is wonderful but lacks the poise and dignity of Rita. And I like Bobo a lot but she does scream fourth place. Or maybe third if they kick Jimbo out next and she has a Shannel esque meltdown.
 
Rita's self-contained grandeur is my hope for a winner. Jimbo has sold his undignified losing too well to stop now. May it be snatched at the very last second too. And if it were to be Priyanka floating through the finishing line as those two take each other out even better. I have no problem with Bobo other than knowing botched surgery jokes is not a personality (memo to Trinity).
 
I wasn't seeing what the judges saw with Scarlet's makeup job on her partner. Yes, she gave herself a harder task but she looked terrible! The outfit was way too busy too.

I thought Jimbo was in contention to win too, her girl looked amazing. I guess she does go to the sexy well quite a lot though.

Poor Lemon was very likable but it was her time to go. The lip sync was far too frantic for such a slow-burn song. I'd have smeared my makeup and decapitated a stuffed animal or something.

Overall a very nice episode despite the weird judging. Jimbo clearly isn't getting a winner's edit, so I'd say it's Rita's to lose despite her slip this week.

That really should've been a double-save, I didn't realise how much I wanted Lemon to stay until this. A top 4 with Bobo? As people have said, makeover challenges are so arbitrary, especially on Canada's Drag Race where critiques have been arbitrary all the way through. I mean sure, I guess the bottom 2 were right, but I could easily have had a bottom 3 with Bobo
 
Oh and YUCKKKKKK Jeffrey was repulsive this time. TOO much of him with his no-drag-knowledge, the stylist hates him too :D that glitter spunk-eye?!

The first half he was Disney Channel TV movie high school mean girl, the second half he was TRYING to channel some RuPaul energy but NO.

Anyway
1) Priyanka - The saviour of this season - I mean the runways aren't always perfect but TBH I could say that about everyone left in the race. I support this narrative of Pridemption. Also love the Sailor Moon sound effects they use on her.
2) Rita - I love her unbotheredness - the runway was a bit of a miss, but everyone was a bit shit this week. Glad she brought a good lip sync, I'd be happy for her to win.
3) Jimbo - The most interesting runways this season, also not without her moments of bustedness (Paper dress, last week), but her personality is a bit toxic for me. She has a sweet talking voice but it feels fake to me. Sounds like she's nice IRL but that's not where we are.
4) Bobo - Tempted to put her as #3 but wouldn't that be her season in general, only not being bottom because someone did worse? The way she was upping the ante of the bodysuit by putting *shock* a leather jacket on it? Her daughter looked like a Ugandan birthday clown.

I mean Lemon also had her runway disasters but when she did well she really shone. Should've been a double save TBH, and capsized the vaguely logical conclusion of a sensible top 4.
 
I cannot understand anyone thinking Lemon won that lip sync. It just didn't fit at all. Rita's reading was excellent, I thought, albeit that I really did think a double save may be coming.

As for the main challenge, I actually thought Jimbo was the winner- they looked spectacular- but Priyanka was a close second. The rest all looked terrible, but yes, Lemon was the worst- the fucking state of Lime :D
 
Yeah Lemon was impressive, that handstand into the splits I had never seen before :disco:

it wasn’t a win but it was surely deserving of the double save and the resulting goopage of Bobo
 
Lemon and Priyanka have been my absolute favourites all season. They will make excellent AllStar crossover cast.
I fancy Boy Priyanka something rotten.
 
I was at a friend's house last night who hasn't finished All Stars 5 yet, so we were watching a few episodes of it, including the Snatch Game Of Love, featuring Jeffrey. It really did show how affected his voice is in this. I'd forgotten he can talk like a normal person.
 
I didn't enjoy Lemon's lip sync, but apart from doing that legless snail trail floor drag thing, there was nothing going on at the Rita end of activity. Anyway, it should have been Lemon Vs Bobo.
 
I still stand by that I LOVED Lemon’s lipsync, and I usually DESPISE them in that style where they don’t really match the song.

It was just really entertaining, and kind of captured the light camp of Alanis’ manic vocal.

I know we are talking shit about him on here but you can imagine how awful people will have been to him directly

it was just a bad choice of ‘character’ he decided the play as a judge on a TV talent show, that’s all

where did I say that? Nobody should get a twitter mob coming for them because of Drag Race, it’s just a TV show. Everyone’s getting their airtime.

Not like he’s the only one, they’re insulting each other in untucked too, and it’s not like Brooke has been totally reasonable in her critiques every time.

anyway I’m not arguing this, bullying people off Twitter is bullshit. Use your time better, maybe
