I love the British references so much in this.

I thought that Blu was better in the lip sync. Although Ru’s reaction to her knee drop thing was :D

Scaredy was giving me motion sickness with her performance and was becoming a bit too unbearable.
 
Loved the episode, but it was a weak lip sync from both of them. I'm not convinced Blu has an awful lot more to give, but whatever it is will be more than Scaredy Kat, so to that extent I'm pleased she's through.

I saw The Vivienne tonight as part of Bob The Drag Queen's tour. She was good, but not great. She looked amazing, and her A-Z of Kim Woodburn was fantastic, but her comedy story wasn't quite there, and she knew it.

Still backing her or Baga to win this, though.

Pete Bennett from Big Brother 7 was at the Bob The Drag Queen show as well.
 
Scaredy Kat's Snatch Game character was Russell Brand. I can cope with missing that.
 
Baga’s ‘C’mon Chip back in the cupboard you go’ line was hilarious and I screamed.
 
Those sketches were bad so at least that hasn’t changed. I can’t believe that the punch line was lesbians, it’s like the early 2000s.
 
They really need to work on improving the acting challenges.

She’s a “jazz hands” supporting musical actor. Which is exactly what we got, in fairness. I think she was fine for that kind of acting...
 
Is it the extremely fine video quality of wow presents+, or are these girls really bad at blending their make up?
 
god, that was some terrible writing in the challenge and i just can't stand michelle at all anymore but it was an ok episode for me.

crystal - i like her though it's a bit worrying she thought that was a british accent
bagga - she's been consistently fun
the vivienne - very mother, but she's brings a whole lot of polish in a rather raggedy season

blu - she seems lovely and i like that she's ambitious in her looks, if still a bit green
davina - i quite like her as a person and i want to like her drag more
sum ting wong - i like her as well

vinegar strokes - she seems nice but her drag is really basic - make up is shit, outfits are drab and this is the second week her nails have looked more manly than mine
scaredy cat - i liked her last week but found her annoying this week. say something about her cheekbone triangles, i won't even.

cheryl hole - i felt bad for her but i'm just not into anything she does in terms of drag. she should've been called out more for that piss poor runway and been in the bottom with scaredy.
 
Yes, I'd have put Cheryl in the bottom against Scaredy as well. She's been the biggest disappointment for me so far.
 
I think, at the moment, the top 3 is clear - The Vivienne, Baga and Divina.

That’s my top 3. I do hope Cheryl stays longer. If these queens aren’t going to bring it to the runway or the lip sync, then we need all the drama and frictions possible.
 
One thing I will say is that, I LIKE the Queens WAY more than the majority of the US ones - they seem less fake and much funnier. I'm just not convinced that the format of the show is suited towards UK queens as much as it is the US ones, and it kinda feels like the UK queens are being shoehorned into this format.

I know that @Beverley said the Manchester queens lip-sync, but I can't recall the last time I saw a UK queen do it, apart from Gran Canaria when it's not the same type of lip-sync that you see US queens do, but much more of a comedy style, usually to really old songs with suggestive lyrics, imagine the type of song Baga would do. A lot of that kinda stuff is tailored for a mixed audience.

Also, the outfits always come second to the whole package - you're not gonna last as a drag queen on the gay scene unless you have the personality to go with it. Mostly the outfits are just flung together cheaply - they only serve a purpose - you don't get UK queens spending thousands of pounds on outfits like in the US.

We also don't have the same tipping culture as they do in the US, where people stuff dollar bills in the Queen's outfits or throw money at them - here that just doesn't feel right, but then that's just the culture here. Also, most of the Queens in the UK gay bars are there to run the entertainment - they DJ, host karaoke, quizzes etc and then will often perform a number of songs, but they're just staff, not the main entertainment. Hence why Queens like Scaredy Kat and Gothy have rightly gone because they might be Insta queens, but that doesn't fly here.

Don't get me wrong, I am LOVING the show and it's already way better than most of the last few seasons of US Drag Race. Plus it's only the first season - remember what the US one was like?
 
Apparently Gothy Kendall has a humongous dick according to Willam and Alaska.
 
I didn’t think this was shit at all, if anything it just felt like a normal US episode. It is a good cast though, I didn’t particularly want to lose anyone.

I had been willing to give Scaredy the benefit of the doubt, she seemed at least aware of her shortcomings, but she just wasn’t ready yet. This is how Pearl should’ve performed..

the only one that isn’t really doing it for me is Vinegar, I feel a bit one-note and all her runways so far have been rough.

Baga really cemented her #1 spot with me this week, I hope she continues. I’m rooting for Blu too, her runways have been great and I enjoyed the lip sync, she was going for it.

I hope Cheryl DOES change a bit now, the Alyssa-isms weren’t doing it, and her runway this week was as weak as Michelle’s Ursula Andress “pun”.

Glad Divina is become more 3D than the Acid Betty character. Sum Ting Wong is good but circling the drain for me.

The Vivienne was a bit sidelined this week after the ranking scene, apart from them trying to make a Cheryl storyline happen.

anyway good so far, I hope they don’t think just saying GUVNER will be funny all season
 
Oh this episode was much better! Both the sketches were pretty good (you know in a RPDR kind of way) but the first team just ran with theirs. Baga was miles ahead of everyone else and looked very early on like she was going to win the challenge.
 
Well apparently not everyone IS and there’s always the risk of some of the more vicious and brittle girls (@dUb :tongueout:) turning nasty :(

Well then they don't have to enter a thread that clearly states which episode of which season we are discussing. Seriously - it's ridiculous to have a spoiler tag on the topic! Not like we're watching it on US pace or something...

Yeah, I was out last night and watched it today but just didn't enter this thread until I'd watched it.

Thanks though BBC News for the big picture of Scaredy on the front page

Yes but it doesn’t really MATTER one way or the other. Better to be on the safe side and I’m sorry to say it but some of the girls on here can be spiteful and actively cruel. I for one don’t want a repeat of that awful @dUb sending me death threats and photoshopped pictures of Enya eating boiled cat heads :(

I have a feeling Baga will be the 5th place Katya of the season.
 
Delighted Blu was saved. It feels surreal having a queen from Belfast on this and she is getting a load of talking heads so I'm somewhat hopeful.

Baga was great. Cheryl was a bit rubbish but they're blatantly holding her out until they have the other Cheryl on a guest judge.

I want a singing challenge. And Snatch Game. No more dodgy scripted acting please.

And I feel like drag queens lip sync all the time everywhere I've been in the UK. I dunno if it's a post drag race thing or what but for defo sure.
 
Ru loves a queen who can make him laugh, and seems willing to forgive in them things that others would be criticised for.

Well yes same here, and not just post Drag Race.

OK we might have more of a tradition of live singing here and a good few of this series’ queens are cut from that cloth, but the suggestions that the lip syncs are going to be shit because it’s just such a foreign artform to them are just bizarre!
