RPDR UK S1 E4 (spoilers)

I don’t think I’ve ever cringed at something as much as Geru. Has she ever seen this show? Mortifying.

She couldn’t even give Sum Ting (who she couldn’t even get the name of right) her final moment in the spotlight without trying to steal all attention.

The Vivienne was incredible! I thought it was rather unfair she had to share her win with Baga.

David Attenborough could have been made funny, but I have a feeling no matter who Sum Ting would have done, it would have been Wong anyway.
 
How did Cheryl do a Gemma Collins Snatch Game without using a single one of her catcahphrases :D

She could have just on full on Alyssa AS2 and used them all as random answers to questions :D
 
Everything Blu does feels like she’s rehearsing something she’s watched on Drag Race.

I do feel a little cheated of not having Vinegar Strokes on Snatch Game as (like Kasha Davis on s7) there was CLEAR POTENTIAL there.

However on Twitter she said she was planning on doing Sandra from Gogglebox, and I don’t have a CLUE who that IS.
 
I suspect Vinegar would have been underwhelming at best. I certainly didn't miss her.

I think she was lucky to be safe. She didn't look like Mary Berry, sound like Mary Berry, or say anything I could imagine her saying, funny or not.

If I can't imagine someone saying something, I at least have to buy the look.

She said on the podcast she was considering RUSTIE LEE and Alison Hammond too!

IKR! It felt like she was doing Gemma Collins from ten years ago. When was the last time you heard jokes abouts vagazzle, designer vagina or Any Childs salon?

I echo everyone else's sentiments really. I will be wearing black tomorrow for the Kim Woodburn snatch game that never was. :( Viv's Trump was a truly brilliant impression, but just not snatch game!

What the hell was that last scene?! "You know what Sum Ting, you should be Sum Ting Right" "Aww love you Geri", "love you Sum Ting Wrong"... Or SOMETHING to that affect. So awkward and i can't believe they didn't edit it.

Agreed. There was no cleverness to her "jokes" at all. Just CRUDENESS and not done well. I much more enjoyed Divina's Julia Childs and I don't even know who that is!

And the jokes felt entirely rehearsed - not like there was any element of improv at all. In short it was a complete Snatch Game BOOT.
 
So that was interesting. Although I think The Vivienne did the BEST impression of them all as Trump, I thought Baga was MUCH funnier. So I think a shared win is probably fair. The Vivienne does impressions for a living, so she is obviously in her element, but I think I'd have preferred to see Cilla or Kim. Whether Trump can be classed as drag or not is an interesting question.

Baga and The Vivienne are clearly the top 2 though, but overall I think The Vivienne has the edge for the crown as she is much more polished than Baga is, whose runway outfits are very rough around the edges.

Apart from those two, Cheryl was passable but yes, could have done SO MUCH more, but she's just coasting. But surely they have to keep her for Cheryl Cole's week on the judging panel! Blu was forgettable though her runway outfit I thought was great.

Poor Divina, she really stuffed it up in the Snatch Game, but she was BY FAR the best runway of the week, so I think that is what saved her. I still think she's in line for third place though.

Crystal was just forgettable, but she was definitely the right one to stay. As for Sum Ting - there hasn't been a more obvious sashayer in AGES, she was way out of her league, though she's a real sweetheart.

As for Geri, the least said the better.

Next week sounds interesting, they're alluding to the fact that someone fucks it up who usually does well - ie The Vivienne or Baga... this will be a good one to watch!

I actually didn’t mind Blu at all- yes it was rehearsed but if you aren’t a comedy queen, then that’s how you prepare- pull out jokes and try and get them in how you can. She also did improv off of David’s answer at one point. Divina, clearly much more of a comedy queen, failed for having fuck all prepared, though you can see why.
 
Based on the Snatch alone, I’d have said

1= Baga
1= The Vivienne (although Baga made me laugh, it was spot on)

3 Blu
4 Cheryl
5 Crystal

6 Divina
7 Sum Ting
 
I thought it was probably the best snatch game in terms of consistently good performances ever aside from maybe season 6. Everyone was at least decent.

And Blu is positively lovely. Her snatch game was fun, her look was great and she seems like a lovely person.

This too. She's an admittedly non naturally comedic queen who showed some decent improv skill. She wasn't on level with the two tops who were streets ahead even if Donald Trump wasn't the most imaginative choice, but she was a clear third.

Crystal was fine but her runway was brilliant. Davina was decent and had a good runway. Sum Ting would have been a clear safe on any of the last six or so American snatch games.

They were all GOOD.

I don’t get the point of Cheryl, her looks are mostly bad and her performance in the challenges has been forgettable at best.
 
Yeah, after this week I'm done with Cheryl. I've given her the benefit of the doubt, but if she couldn't bring it with an open goal like Gemma Collins, I struggle to think where else she's going to shine. It was all blabber and no wit, sadly.

Blu did OK. It wasn't especially funny, but I think she got credit for having an idea and sticking to it, as opposed to Sum Ting and Divina who just totally bombed. Also that runway was incredible, up there with the very best of the US girls.

Baga was my winner. Better runway (I also hated The Vivienne's awful outfit) and "The Belgrano" absolutely killed me. She's a very smart queen.

Crystal was a big let-down, as mentioned she just didn't embody Blanche/Rue. How do you do that character and not crowbar in a LEBANESE joke, for starters? The syphilis line made me laugh, but it was literally the only spark of life.

Sum Ting clearly the right one to go. Horribly ill-judged from start to finish. She seems like a nice person, but the X Factor just isn't there.

Blu’s Mary Berry ranks as one of the worst EVER Snatch Game performances for me; I was actually quite taken back by how brainless it was, with zero attempts at characterisation and just full throttle crass. Sum Ting Wong wasn’t funny, but at least she kept true to the mannerisms of her character. Mary Berry is a witty and intelligent person and if Blu was going to do her it would have been great to have done Mrs Merton style passive-aggressive sideswipes at Ru and the other girls.

For the second week in a row Baga had absolutely the worst runway. That she won with that outfit says that she can basically do whatever she wants. The Vivenne’s Donald Trump was brilliant and her runway should have cemented a clear victory. Obviously she is evil, but she is trouncing the competition because she has come PREPARED.
 
the most pertinent question for me is what's happened to geri. she's acting like she's been lobotomised. apart from that i thought they did pretty well in the snatch and the runway was great but i'm still a bit meh about this season.

If a look has to be explained, something isn't quite right. And in the case of The Vivienne this week, I'm still not sure I knew what was going on even after it was explained.
 
Geri has ALWAYS been a total fucking space cadet. She is just a posh one now!

Its amazing how well Baga is doing with these not so great runways. It makes you think how good she COULD be if she stepped it up a little. But I think that’s just her shtick. She’s just a messy queen. That Belgrano line really was something through. Definitely smarter than she comes across.
 
We saw a brief bit of Baga letting her front down during the Thatcher issue with Davina, which was interesting. Far more restrained! I guess it takes a certain level of smartness to play that loud and ridiculous. She does it bloody well.

Her looks are shit (by her own admission), but when you're a top end comedy queen, that sort of thing will see you through.
 
Her look this week was far from great, but I think they appreciated her pushing herself by her usual standard.

Clearly either her or The Viv is heading for a stumble next week though, although I suspect it will be relatively minor.
