This is starting TONIGHT and no thread, no hype, nothing :D Anyone watching? :side-eye:

Can't find the title of the episode.

The storylines and plot devices are replicated to such a familiar degree that it actually becomes quite exhausting to watch it all play out.

I'm mildly excited. I've watched a few of the pre interview things and it seems like a likable bunch of queens on the whole.

Based on this I predict the French one will have an early exit, and 'Rock M Sakura' will be my hate figure for the season.

i almost always love the premiere episode, so I’m excited for episode 1 at least - it’s generally mid-late season where it REALLY starts to flag (hi makeover episode AGAIN :argh:)

Anyway, the queens this time around seem like the best cast since Shea and Sasha’s season :disco: I’m particularly interested in Heidi N Closet who appears to be Tammie Brown meets Mayhem Miller with a HORRENDOUS meth problem :disco:, and the Aiden Zhane who seems to be UTTERLY CONFUSED as to why they have been cast in everything I’ve seen so far.

I also love the French one, and they are BRINGING the looks but will clearly be an early out as their English is slightly less than perfect.

On the flip side, the one called JAN appears to be the most BASIC casting this side of Ariel Versace...
 
I like the Iranian queen. The French one is so out of place.

But that will absolutely not stop me watching / complaining about it

Well this was a strong start

It was a good idea to split the queens but it seems that they put all the personality in one group cause I’m struggling to remember who’s left.

I am obsessed with Heidi in a Closet, she made me laugh the most.

Nicky Doll was the weakest of the group. Gigi won me over with the green suit and helmet. Widow was doing so much but fair play for going all in. I think I liked everyone in this group. Especially with no Silky to suck all the energy out.

Even Ru seemed to be enjoying herself. Nicki was a great judge.

So far so good. It feels like a stronger cast than season 11 but I haven’t seen the second half yet.
 
Also this has to be the longest lipsync we’ve gotten in the whole series.
 
Yep, I loved every single second of that- Nicki was a fantastic judge in the end- no one liners but proper critiques, I thought ALL of them actually did good, the runway challenge was excellent and I enjoyed the rap. I presumed no one was going home way before the ruveal- they were struggling for negatives in the judges’ critiques. I also like everyone so far, which is unusual.

That singlehandedly revived my interest in lip syncs too- that was the best in AGES AND AGES. The song choice was great, both were really good. Why don’t they give us an after the show individual camera performance though? Does that make sense? :D

The right winner in the end I think too- Widow was just the better lip sync-er and I think was definitely the best in the rap challenge.

Oh and LEPROSY PRINT :D
 
Aside from her grumpy edit in the dance rehearsals, I have high hopes for the WIDOW VON DU :disco:

I agree, a very good bunch, although three weeks before anybody goes home?!

My weak link was the insufferable Crystal Method, who have me major Thorgy Thor vibes with that walk-in. The runway looks were very costume-y too.

I like the French girl, she's quite endearing.

Works for me. We lose people I don’t remotely give a shit about generally and that’s a shame- there’s no DRAMA in losing someone you don’t know or care about.
 
I haven’t watched Meet the Queens because I didn’t want any ”spoilers”, so I had no expectations, and ended up enjoying it all. It was a very good episode, a rather strong cast. I’m glad they divided them up in two premiers.

The group performance was really strong and the biggest shock to me was that Nicki was actually really good, I agreed with her critique.

Heidi is fantastic. :disco: I want to adopt her.
Loved the Persian and the French queen too.

The one I instantly disliked (and whose name I can’t recall now) was the tall skinny fashion queen, but her performance in the group challenge and the lip sync surprised me and made me like her.

Widow was the right winner, but I didn’t really care for her lip sync.

Crystal Method is the weakest link for me.
 
I can’t believe they FORCED Nicki Minaj watch a lipsync to Starships! :D She was an amazing guest judge however.

- I thought Brita was a bit BASIC and will definitely flounder if she doesn’t have much more to bring.
- Jackie Cox seems a bit TOO AWARE of herself, and her runway was almost as weirdly slow-mo as PEARL’s.
- Gigi felt a little TOO Violet/Aquaria part 3, but was undeniably excellent the whole episode through.
- Nicki Doll’s runways were a bit of a mess (especially the Spring one), I’m surprised they didn’t mention it. The JPG inspired one was cute aside from the horrible men’s white shirt she had on.
- Heidi N Closet is an OBVIOUS STAR :disco:
- Crystal Method I’m not really onboard with. I thought her performance look was borderline black face, and I’m getting Thorgy Thor vibes :argh: The Freddie Kruger look was amazing though I WILL GIVE HER THAT.
- Widow was FAB and I loved her confidence :disco:
 
Oh yes, I agree with Brita coming off as basic. I had already forgotten about her.

And I really can’t recall who Jackie Cox is now. I only watched this 3 hours ago. :o:x:
 
Widow and Heidi were the stars of the group performance. Nikki Doll is delivering in the talking heads. I do fancy Jackie quite a bit and thought elements of her were great but am hesitant about backing her completely because elements of her were giving serious Miz Cracker episode 1 before she got a bit boring.
 
I suspect Brita is getting the Nina West edit. She'll probably come around in the next few weeks and emerge as a contender.

That or become a complete monster like Alexis Michelle. :D

Hopefully the latter. Nina West was such a bore, the highlight of her Drag Race career was a ”Meh!”
 
After watching Untucked I like French Nicki even more.

And I realize why I hated poor Chrystal; she looked like Blu Hydrangea in that awful devil costume.
 
I'll go against the grain here and say I didn't like Widow AT ALL. Her looks in the challenge were BASIC, and all she did in the dance was the SAME OLD SAME OLD shit we have seen hundreds of times before. Sure she is a big girl who can death drop, do splits etc, but so what? I think after watching the UK series I am looking for something different from my queens. I guess though this is what they still want across the pond.

No one deserved to go home, I think. It was obvious from half way through the episode that was going to happen. Not a fan of Heidi either though. I liked Gigi the most I think. Her looks were FIERCE.
