I enjoyed how Sh*rry did the line in the mini-challenge where they said the name of the brand, so they had to feature it prominently - I bet the producers were fuming :D
 
I must say that they have done a spectacularly good job of generally erasing Sherry from proceedings, to the point where any on-screen appearance just looks like they’ve accidentally filmed the cleaner

Chaka is a coke head. She was unwatchable on Watch What Happens Live (although hardly surprising if what Kathy Griffin says about that show is true).
 
Wow. That elimination was trash. I don' think I've seen a more UNDESERVING queen stay and more deserving queen leave.

I was really living for Jan's fake outer charm, when in reality she was an unhinged power-hungry bitch on the inside :D

She's always like that. I think she's a bit drug fucked after all the shit she did back in the 70s and 80s.

But somehow it's made her even more iconic. Diva with a capital D.

Did she though? I think they did pretty equally. Jan's was random but Widow's was boring.

Widow has won a challenge and been high as often as Jan.

And I take on board your opinion but really think that if Jan had delivered Widow's lip sync you'd be in here saying it was the best thing ever. But ANYWAY...

Widow isn't even in the same league. She's put out way more garbage than anyone else still left. Jan is infinitely more talented. The lip-synch from both of them was run-of-the-mill af.
 
Widow embodied that song in a way very few queens have managed in a LSFYL for quite a long time, I would say. The thing it reminded me of most was Latrice versus Kenya, though Jan didn't misread things THAT badly obviously (who could? :D) and didn't embarrass herself in the way poor Kenya did. It was similar to that lipsync in the sense that there were two different approaches taken, and the higher-energy one was made to look silly and desperate compared to something more considered.
 
It was SO obvious how much Ru disliked Jan. I felt a bit sorry for her. She was a bit too EARNEST though, but I think she'll mellow a bit as she gets older. I definitely prefer her to Widow, who had a massive advantage with the lip-sync song. I'd like to see her back for All Stars in a few years but I doubt Ru would want her.

I'm kinda hitting that mid-season bump at the moment where I'm beginning to get a little bored. The winner is blindingly obvious and it's just who else makes up the final 3 with her. At the moment, I think it's Crystal and Jackie.
 
Jan (and Brita, and Honey Davenport from last season) just WEREN’T SPECIAL enough for Drag Race. Sure they might be big queens in New York, but every big city needs a reliable guard of drag queens to FILL THE GAPS when your Bob The Drag Queen & Sasha Velour’s go MYSTERIOUSLY MISSING during filming season. There is a reason it’s taken them till season 12 to get on the show.

She’s a fine Drag Queen, she clearly spent some money on her outfits - does she bring anything new or exciting to the table? FUCK NO!
 
I'd file Jan under good rather than great, absolutely. Competent, but unexciting. For several weeks we were waiting for her to deliver, and then when she did, Gigi was markedly better at something that is Jan's strongest suit. It was clear she'd be out of the door soon after that.

I actually don't think Gigi WAS markedly better last week though. I'd say they were more or less equal. But I think Jan suffers from the fact that she's not a HUGE personality on the show, and that also plays a major part in it. Even this week I thought she was ok, and I don't think she was the worst at all. Though I think most of the queens of this year would KILL to have a meme like her reaction last week got, so I am sure she'll be fine.
 
I'd say Jan is a bigger personality than Gigi.

Last week I think that if they judged it on vocal talent and dancing then yes, Jan should have won. But they based it on the final product, which was an edited recording of their song and a lip synced performance. And I thought that Gigi had more presence. (So did Jaida...).

If it was a S10 esque musical with live singing Jan probably would have won.

And I agree that Jan was a bit dead behind the eyes on stage and the prospect of a Jan show doesn't sound too fun (too me), whereas Widow is a great performer.
 
Even if they were equal (and I personally disagree), it didn't matter. Gigi still managed to match Jan at her supposed best, and had been better than her at everything else. When that happened, Jan became superfluous.

Jan didn't even lip sync to the song, she just did an aerobics show. I like her but there was no comparison to what The Widow was doing.
