Oof... I always find these stand-up challenges so hard to watch. :zombie:

Not a great episode really. Crystal was the only highlight, Jackie's story was nice enough but not all that funny. Everybody else... ouch. The 'Sherry is a stage hog' edit was probably the funniest moment in the whole show.

Gutted by the queen we lost. Obviously she's going to win Miss Congeniality, but it really barely feels worth watching the remaining episodes without her. :(

Also, the (dreadful) Puppet challenge - that line about Sherry 'force feeding America' was a bit :bruised: in retrospect.

Has anyone ever won their first challenge this late in a series ?

I normally like the puppet show but this one was a disaster.

Finally a Crystal win!

Surely they’re ALL a lock for the top 4 now with the obvious exception.

Kind of takes the jeopardy out of next week if so, unless they crack on ahead with a three queen final.

Crystal is rather undeniable at this point. Her first batch of runways seemed rather basic to me, but she has impressive momentum right now and I liked the runway this time.

When Whoopi gave advice to not worry about not everyone getting it, I do wish the producers took note as well. That was the most skewed edit I think I've ever seen on that show. I enjoyed Gigi's, but let's cut to Jackie explaining where she's going wrong after her own hilarious after school special that had 2 jokes maximum.

Poor Heidi. She should have stole the show this week.

It's nice that they said Sherry was funny as I didn't feel I was given the chance to find out. The time stamps might have been better for Untucked. She was more Mimi than ever though.

It wasn't a satisfying episode - I didn't think anyone was abysmal and the crickets/clunk/tumbleweed edit just made it frustrating.

"Unsalted peanuts...welcome to hell bitch" LOOOL dead.

Heidi :(

This episode was a bit meh for me, but at least we had the broccoli in the audience, so funny :)

Crystal is ADORABLE. Loved how giddy she became when she won the challenge. So nice to see such a genuinely nice drama-free person get to the top.

I enjoyed it... jeez you guys are harsh critics. I agree with Ru that it's one of the strongest top 6's ever. I mean... I just can't imagine coming up with a 'funny' script in less than 24 hours - I'd be shameful at it, so I totally understand why the queens don't make jokes that would pack out the Palladium in that time.

Crystal's was inspired - it's the first time I've felt she should win a challenge and she really is coming on leaps and bounds.

I actually thought Sherry should be given bottom 2 (next to Jaida) for breaking the rules so blatantly and Michelle was 100% right on her. Can't believe Ross said she was harsh. It's exactly how I've read Sherry to be from the beginning in the limited time we've seen her.

But really I didn't think anyone was a complete disaster. Jaida's was the weakest, but she managed to riff when jokes were falling flat, which I've seen so called 'professional' comedians do much much worse.

It’s not as if they don’t know what’s coming. Or even if they don’t, there is generally some sort of stand up challenge every season. Any decent Queen should be entirely prepared.

Jackie winning the mini challenge for her puppet Sherry was a bit awkward for the show - did anyone get any of the references that she threw in to the character? I didn't, cos it's a character that we've been not been allowed to see.

I wonder what they've got planned for after next week's episode. Most likely, they've filmed a queen being eliminated and there's a top four with Sherry Pie in it. Will they have an announcement ready to go? A video - or an on-screen message? Will they allow the eliminated queen into the top four or will it be a top three? Will they show the queen's reaction? And of course, will they be able to tell us what their plan is for the final?

I think we’ve seen enough of Sherry to know that she talks about force feeding people (yikes) and her pie puns.

Crystal was brilliant and definitely deserved the win. I think if you're not a natural comedian then going down the surreal character/concept route is the best thing here, it worked for Gigi too who I don't think received enough credit for that. Yes she stumbled a little and it wasn't amazing, but most of the jokes landed and she actually made people laugh. I felt so bad for her when she was clearly struggling with her ideas because it's probably the hardest challenge.

Jaida and Heidi were car crashes, and much as I love her it was the right decision to let Heidi go.

The Sherry edit was weird - I THINK it was funny in part, but they spent the whole time talking about about how she dragged it out so it was hard to say.

Not a bad episode despite a few fuck ups and Whoopi was a gem.

I'm now assuming Jackie is out next week after Crystal's late surge. Hopefully. Then just have a top 3 when Sherry is ousted - in fact I wish they'd stick to three queen finals, it's really all you need.

The problem with a three queen final is you don't get the lip sync battles, which, let's face it, are what the finals have become about.

I thought it looked funny. In fact, of all six, it would be her section that I'd most like to see fleshed out into a 30 minute live performance at a bar.

I thought that Sherry Pie should have been bottom 2 for being so over the time limit - I'm not a stickler for rules because I am #STATEMENTS but I do think it takes the piss when you know that you only have 5 minutes and there is someone waiting to go after you. Plus this is training for the real world outside and there are many tasks that require you to able to do things within a timeframe - for example, an essay in an exam or untying the ropes from your wrists before the guards get back.

Gigi Goode did well but I think what's happened here is that she greatly prepared everything she could with her mother before coming on the show, and so it's not surprise she's coming unstuck when she's being asked to improvise as we saw with the puppet challenge or when asked to rethink the concept by Whoopi.

in sherry's defence you can lose track of time on stage. i did standup once (off my head obviously) and beyond the sheer terror of getting in front of a crowd there was a moment when i totally got lost in it.

they had to take me off the stage.

yeah, i get that it wasn't sportswomanly but what's more worrisome for me is having not enough material rather than too much. her bit looked quite funny.
