OMG. and with 8m streams for 10.5m in 1 and a half days. also #4 on Apple Music which is strongly hip-hop/R&B-leaning. is this shit going to #1? :D

I'm sorry but I am absolutely obsessed with this trash. It's giving mid-table Eurovision entry by a RIDDLED Balkan queen and his hag/beard.

I would trust Slavko and Hurricane to come up with something BETTER.

Tiktok is the promo apparently. Will Kim be the first openly trans person to chart on the Hot 100 let alone top ten?

I like this although it’s not among either of their best work.

Sam top five:

1) Latch
2) Omen
3) Dancing with a Stranger
4) Promises
5) How Do You Sleep

I really liked Sam Smith when he released his first album, but somewhere between that and the second I totally went off him.

Diamonds is such a rock solid pop song. the singles leading up to Love Goes were a really great sound for Sam. Another One is the slinky danceable midtempo smash that never was

:disco:

I hope there's more disco/house grooves to come and the album is not just piano balladry with Jimmy Napes

Kim has her critics but she absolutely deserves to be a huge star. Really pleased for her.

I suspect she will net me a few half points in future music quizzes as well.

Easily the best stuff he's done on this album and it pretty much flopped (I think?!). Go figure... The new one is a bit of a guilty pleasure tbh, but it feels such a strange direction for him after the last album.

Serving butch queen mini challenge in that mechanic get-up

I still like the song a lot, but the video really underlines how short and insubstantial it is.

Spotify has SERVED me this song and... has WESTERN MUSIC finally caught up with ARABIC POP? :disco:

I literally know NOTHING about these two, except for him winning an Oscar (!) for one of the most OBVIOUS BOND TRACKS ever, so maybe that's a PLUS. Because the song really gets under your skin.

Well in my personal experience, this song is much more pleasant than scabies

If you can't imagine yourself cruising some BARECHESTED CLOSET BEARDED BOY devouring you with his eyes in a HAMMAM while this plays, you HAVEN'T LIVED.

HARAM POP is the new ROCK'N'ROLL.

The Beatles may have had 20 number one hits, but did they ever rhyme addy and daddy? No. This song is truly groundbreaking

It probably has a decent shot at Hot 100 #1 before Taylor's album bomb, unless she drops a lead single this Friday.

Ilya is a regular Sam collaborator, I think he works most often with Max Martin, not with Dr Luke.

Gays this is an awesome song. It sounds modern, aware of pop music BEYOND THE WEST and different from your usual #1 fare. You got to respect that at the very least.

Also it's a song about a man cruising a straight boy in a body parlour. Welcome to the Future :disco:

What’s a body parlour? :o

Can’t work out if it’s a fancy rebranding of a bathhouse or a funeral home

There are some eastern elements in it but I’d hardly say it’s Arab pop influenced. It sounds a lot more like the r&b sound from early 00’s that also had some eastern vibe (like Beyonce’s Naughty Girl which I think sounds very similar).
