I'm hardly a music expert but the scale used in the chorus sounds Arabic (similar to a double harmonic using semitones in the first and last step of the scale).

To be fair it may not be a true Arabic scale, maybe Egyptian or Phrygian, my ears are not that musically trained! But the scale is certainly not one that you would use in a standard Western composition.

At the risk of triggering @OutSynk even more I should add that in MUSIC THEORY Egyptian and Arabic scales ARE different, although they are a lot closer to each other than to Western ones. And I can't really tell the difference.

It's a suspended pentatonic scale according to Google. FANCY.

Regardless of what sound they’ve stolen (I still think this mostly reminds me of Beyonce’s Naughty Girl) it’s still a 2/10.
 
Having previously stopped this after 20 seconds, I gave this a full listen yesterday.

I thought it was absolute rot. Then I read it uses a Egyptian or Phrygian scale and I still think it's cack.
